I think the thermostat has gone on the stang.  Is is still ok to just remove it as a temporary measure till I can get a new one?

yep, just means the engine will take longer to get up to temperature if at all.

Probably use a little more fule to on account of it running colder.

i got a stat from jon woolfe (sp) just on the estate where phil works, was far cheaper plus i asked phil to deliver it when he came down so no delivery charge !
