Probably only of interest to anyone who's into drag racing

Top Fuel racer and custom bike builder Urs Erbacherfrom the Midland Oil TF team (from switzerland) has really pulled one off in Pomona, USA

30 years ago Clive Skilton (from the UK) was the first european racer to ever go a round in an NHRA top fuel event. Earlier this year Urs went out to the US and also went a round.

Having shipped his team back out there following the end of the european FIA TF series, this weekend in Pomona not only did Urs qualify 13th, he then proceeded to knock out J.R. Todd, NHRA Rookie of the Year, in R1 eliminations at the same time setting the top speed of the event (so far) of 316mph.

He then went on to knock out Brandon Bernstein in R2 to put himself into the semi finals.

He narrowly lost the semi finals against 'Hot Rod' Fuller due to dropping a cylinder half way through the run - dropping a cylinder in top fuel robs you of a 1000bhp - who managed to get past him at the stripe.

A great result for euro top fuel racing
