you simply cant put steelies on a performance car in 2009.. not even really on a shopping car.. looks like the new camaro is a textbook example of falling at the last hurdle..

pathetic base spec, and nasty interior finish. the press are gonna have a field day.

I think we should start calling PhilO Clarkson from now on...
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

They will be ideal for any country that has a lot of snow/ice

IMHO I quite like the retro look

Roadkill

Steel wheels tend to be lighter than the chunky alloys - so really it's the true performance choice.

I think they look, and SHOULD feel, OK.....?

It's not as bad an idea as you at first think.

Many people will want to modify the car which means junking the standard rims so why pay for them in the first place?

That was always my argument when I had my Focus, people used to prefer the sportier sprung Zetec to the softer sprung Ghia which I had.  But as we all replaced the suspension with lowered stuff, you ended up with the same performance anyway.

steelies are very flexible, so are utterly useless in the handling stakes. i just cant help thinking GM have blown the opportunity to make a great car, and instead are building something that will be seen as a laughing stock outside the US..
