Two problems :

The Police testified in court that the detection equipment had been properly calibrated & was 100% accurate

The driver was driving an unmodified Lotus Elise with a proven top speed of 127mph

If it was checked using those laser guns in vans, i have a real problem with believing they are anything like as accurate as they claim.

That bloke who got nicked with his kid on the back for example. Didn't they say he was doing over 120 or something? Yet look at the video and he doesn't appear to be going much faster than the cars coming towards the van. The other issue with the video is the target location is all over the place on the bike, and more than twice is completly missing it. This i would have thought would give false readings as it would be bouncing the laser beam off of something much further in the distance.

My two cents anyway. I personally don't like any of the methods for checking speed apart from pacing, there are too many ways it can be shown to give false speeds.

Btw, i don't condown<sp> speeding.
