Looks like the safety driver is a bit too keen! But saying that, if they were under full course yellow, that Bemmer came around that corner way too fast for any chance of stopping.

Clearly the safety car drivers fault, no need to cross the track like that, gentle merge would be safer, especially with the bend, the race car had no chance to react.

i saw that live yesterday...
what a noob in the safty car....im sure he expected every one to stop behind him,..... on a sixpence.....
it was the start of the 2nd lap and there had been carnage..as always at pau.....

In defence of the safety car driver, he would have gone when instructed to.  He would have had no idea where the incoming cars were, or what speed they were doing.

I'd say the fault was with race control for not sending him out sooner.
