cbt to an r6 is a big step.....

Yup.

I'm sure after you've parked it under a bus a couple of times you'll realise that you should've gone for something a tad smaller, first.

or very big fall.........

the R6 is an extremely unforgiving bike, definitely not something i'd recommend for a novice...

something like this would be better....

Missus jumped straight on a ZZR600 with no problems...
Spoke to many mates and even the instructors and they all seem to think an R6 would be fine.. R1 now thats a different matter...........

until you've ridden one, you simply cannot appreciate a bikes acceleration. its going to be MUCH faster than anything you've ever been in. the viper will feel slow, I promise you.

the R6 can hit 60 in 2.8 seconds with a competent rider, some people have recoded times of 2.3 seconds.

no faster to 60.. .100 - 150 though.........

the ZZR is a very different machine, more of a sport tourer with a wider spread of power, quite a lot less power, and much more forgiving. still gonna be faster than the viper, too..

philoldsmobile

if you do go for the R6, be careful, like i said, its a very unforgiving bike.

Going back to the original advert . . . has anyone noticed just how bad the use of words are ?

Last Saturday I got beaten by a cars length to 90mph by a new BMW M3 when I backed off

My 21 year old 650cc bike only has 52bhp & 43ftlb talks

there is a guy who was featured in ride magazine a couple of months ago - with just weight saving (carbon bodywork and magnesium wheels mainly, his stock engined R6 runs 9's.

dont underestimate it. would you let a novice drive the viper? don't think for a second the R6 is going to be slower.

201 BHP per liter, 162 kg and a power to weight ratio of 790 bhp per tonne thats over 50% higher than even your 750bhp viper, figure in a lot less rolling and wind resistance, and you start to see the figures are stacked firmly on the bikes side.

Yup.

Even my 23 year old 600 Radian will happily see off most cars on the road and it's far from fast.

With all the idiots on the road thesedays I really don't see the point of having a faster bike . . .

One of the more interesting road accident statistics ( if you can believe any of them ) is that 30 years ago the worst road accidents occurred in bad weather.

i.e Heavy rain or fog etc.

Apparently statistically the worst accidents now tend to happen in the best weather

May be modern cars are too comfortable and drivers feel too safe
