Did someone call my name?

Well my main role on the project has been as ballast...

Roadkill

Tonights job is to extend the hole in the floor pan for the shifter and connect the fuel line at both ends of the car.

Next will be to re-fix the trans - but not before chasing out the threads first !!!

It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

Done - and re-fitted the shifter.

That was about it in the end . . . had a tidy up but by the time I'd done with the floor pan my gut was telling me it's dinner time.

Hopefully get the gearbox re-mounted tomorrow . . . .

UPDATE ON CAMARO

Gearbox is out. As is the Prop.

I tightened the loose wheel bearing yesterday as well so that's sorted.

I'm probably gonna drop the rear axle off as well and take that to Hauser to fit the LSD.

Seems like a good idea as then I can put the "fresh" axle on with New shocks, new springs and a fresh gearbox rebuild.

Should drive like a completely different car !

COSTS

LSD - £75 - Paid
Fitting of - £180 (phone quote)
Springs - £170 - Paid
Shocks - £275 - Paid
Gearbox rebuild - £450 (phone quote)
New S/S brakelines - £100 - Paid

TOTAL - £1,250.

I think it's fair to put the insured value up a little bit for that lot.

Wow.

Just looking back . . . It's odd - it's only been 2 years but it feels longer . . .

I'm also starting to tot-up the costs, now, too !

I must stop that - it's not healthy.

. . . . I just want to get her done and happily drivable out of the way so I can worry about other projects . . .

Well that didn't work did it ?

I've now decided to keep the Camaro

Yeah, she was for sale for a while . . . wonder what I'd be doing if she'd sold ?

It's actually refreshing looking back . . . . .

UPDATE FROM YESTERDAY :

Trans has now been bolted up, securely.  Prop loop is test-fitted (all 8 holes drilled) and the area which was cut out the day before has been POR15'ed.
The fuel line has also been connected at the rear and the (old) prop test-fitted then removed again.

Shifter works fine, by the way.

The Camaro is now back on its wheels . . I measured for ground clearance and took a chance and ordered the Doug's long tubes . . fingers crossed, there.

Everything, I believe, has been purchased . . . . .

Next job is to move the Camaro out of the garage so I can connect the fuel line in the engine bay . . . then remove the front wheels to fit the calipers, pads, flexi's and front hard brake pipes.
I've also got to make up a couple of vacuum lines for the engine bay, too and fit the filter for the brake booster . . .

Cheers to Titsy last night for tranny-related assistance and to Chris who did . . . err . . . well, something.

The final list of brought items that should see the 'Maro's motor running . . . .

What are you doing for the actual exhaust system

The BIG question is when do you think she'll hit the road again
