how the hell does that paint do that, does it have polymer strands in the paint itself or does it go on in a wet flat coat and cure like that ?

Apparently it has an oil in the paint that dries at a slower rate than the paint.

It's very old skool technology coming from the early days of radio (a favourite finish).

I think it has something to do with the secondary coats reacting with the first (heavy) coat.

After painting it's perfectly smooth.  In my case it started to "turn" after about half an hour (it's temperature dependant) and within 3 hours the whole thing was wrinkled.

The process continues for 48 hours, however, and over this time the finish becomes even more wrinkled and much more even.

I'm really impressed with the VHT paint as I had a mixed bag of results with the Hycote stuff.

I'd give it

Go out and find something to paint with it !!!

I've got to make-up a switch panel to cover the hole in the lower dash left by the absence of a centre console so, needless to say, it'll be getting used, there, too.

I know its too late now

Not exactly.

They make a retro-fit one for those who have existing Spohn X-members . . . ie. me.

It would also sort the issue I have with the steering . . .

But, no.  Not yet.

I already have future mini-projects lined up for the Camaro over the coming years (first one is a Cam / Rear gear upgrade) so this will just go on that list.

I really do wish they'd stop bringing out new stuff for third gens and start working on older, big bodied GM's . . . like Cadillacs, for example.

Barely update-worthy but here goes . . . The new Spohn Chrome-moly prop . . . .

Bare and clean.

Masked and primered.

Red and pimpin'.

Have also placed the final order for the year with Jegs . . for various little "odds and sods" I need, too . . . . Plus the cowl scoop for my hood.

Is this your Maro that Shaun bought from you?

He was in it a few months back at the Swindon meet and never mentioned getting rid of it
