Is it going to be a show or go car?

A go car.

I'm not a fan of (too) shiny but that said it'll be fairly tidy . . .

EDIT - And, much to Martyn's discust, it will likely be going satin black (this is for a number of good reasons)

IMHO It would let better just left as it is, more of a sleeper

OK cost, but what else

coz satin black cars rock

No no no a thousand times no

Matte Black on a basic car ( not a hot rod or custom ) just say's your too poor to afford a proper paint job

So you think this looks better :

Than this and I don't even like blue

I have to agree with Martyn here, that 3rd gen looks wrong.

Comparing the two pictures matte black seems to lose shape and definition

That could be a good thing on a custom or rod, because then your eye would be drawn to other design details, but it just ruins the Camaro

What, with a 4" Cowl ? and 295 tyres on the back ?

Roadkill

Optima Red showed up yesterday, as did the main rad hose I'm missing and PhilO is slowly getting through the pile of little jobs I've given him to fabricate.

I'll be posting a pic of the stuff he's made for the 'Maro as most you won't see when it's in there and they really are works of art.

It makes me miss "real" engineering when you could actually do little "homers" yourself on "the side" . . .

That's the only bit I miss about "real" engineering, though.

On my lottery win list is a "real" workshop with a lathe, CNC miliing m/c, radial arm drill, welding booth etc

Oh and a Duck-off bench strong enough to put any engine & gear box on

Roadkill

Hell if I won the lottery I'd get a water-jet !

Anyway

Incursus

If I won the lottery I'd get someone else to do that shit for me while I enjoy the cars

Roadkill

PhilO's finished all the Camaro-related mini projects, now, plus I've now got all the little bits I need to finish the rad install.

Weather permitting that's tonights' job.

After that I need to jack the front end up at least another foot to get the headers under !

ianjpage

cool - means it a step closer to finishing it

Gis a shout if ya need a hand

Roadkill

That'll most likely be this weekend . . . although moving her and getting her "ready" during the week will save time . . .

See how I get on tonight . . .

Have now got all the plumbing done (except the brakes) - all the coolant pipes are finished and fitted, as are the fuel related pipes.  Vacuum lines are also finished.

Radiator is now fully fixed and the radiator top plate is fitted, too.

Next job . . . . . . . . . .

Back under the car, fit the prop and prop loop and then the headers . . .

Propshaft is now fitted.

Prop-loop is now fitted.

Starter has been removed - ready for installation of P/S header.

D/S header is in position but not fully fixed.

Upper strut mounts have been centralised-ish and fixed (will obviously need further adjustments but will make it easier to maneuver for now).

Oil cooler plate has been removed (permanently and will be for sale), filter plate removed, cleaned, bolts modified and replaced.
New Filter fitted.

Next job is to raise the front-end up another few inches and position the P/S header.

Then replace the sump-plug gasket, then measure-up for the exhaust system . . . .

Then lower the car back onto its wheels and finish fitting the headers.

Then I've got to connect the clutch pedal, fit and run a choke cable, then run the throttle cable.

Then onto the wiring . . . .

I'll have her running by the end of this year or die trying !!

temporary wiring for teh win!!!! (run cables to pump, coil and a few others and ready to fire lol!)

Roadkill

Yeah, I can do that . . . . for starters but obviously the plan would ideally be to get all the wiring sorted properly.

Then it'll just leave me, basically, the "cosmetic" stuff . . . .
