I'll have her running by the end of this year or die trying !!

I recon we can rig it to run in a couple of hours max, just to run for a few minutes as that would be with very little instrumentation.

When do you want to give it a go?

If I wasn't going on holiday mid-month that would be a strong possibility.

An update in pictures . . .

Firstly the pukka parts PhilO turned up for me (now all fitted) . . .

Next a shot with the Headers, Prop and prop-loop fitted . . .

The prop and loop fitted . . .

There was also other little bits and bobs done / sensors for the Autometer gauges fitted etc . . but most of the work today was header / exhaust related . . . .

The next picture shows the newly fitted rad, the fresh ally lines, the refitted fan and rad pipes etc . . . .

Titsy

All looking good!

I don't have the gauge backlight bulbs here, so you must have had them back with gauges... Let me know when you've dug them out and i'll stop by on my way home from work. You can have a chat with Chris #2 at the same time if you like...

Roadkill

One way or another - I'll find those bulbs tonight . . .

The front end will be coming off, too, so I can get it shot-blasted.

Which reminds me - I'll be buying a packet of grommets for the various bits coming through the bulkhead . . .

Later T56's in GM's are different too, apparently.  But if it's an early GM-supplied T56 (93-97) - which mine is - it's designed for ATF.

Thanks for the coments, guys . . . it keeps me going !

Just didn't want you putting in the wrong oil after all that work...

Roadkill

Mini-update.

Got the throttle return bracket and dual springs fitted last night.

Spent the rest of the evening clearing EVERYTHING out of the car in readiness for the interior wiring/under dash work . . .

There's some bits and bobs I found in the bottom of the boot that couldn't've moved in nearly three years !

. . .Really reminded me just how long this has been going on for . . .

blimey has it REALLY been 3 years!!!!!!!!!

Titsy

As I suggested last night, the two coolant connectors that you blanked off after removing the oil cooler are supposed to be joined up with a bypass:

I guess you could have my bypass if I by your oil cooler...

Chances are the hose won't be long enough (none of the other ones were) but I'll give it a go - you want the cooler, then ?

Quoting: Roadkill on the 26th MARCH 2007 !!!

UPDATE ON CAMARO

Gearbox is out. As is the Prop.

I tightened the loose wheel bearing yesterday as well so that's sorted.

I'm probably gonna drop the rear axle off as well and take that to Hauser to fit the LSD.

Seems like a good idea as then I can put the "fresh" axle on with New shocks, new springs and a fresh gearbox rebuild.

Should drive like a completely different car !

That's over 3 years and 1 month !!!

The bit I've underlined makes me chuckle looking back . . . .

ianjpage

bloody hell yeah so it is !!

lol yeah it should drive like a different car cos most of the main parts of it ARE different !!!

Roadkill

NOTE TO TITSY !!!

CHECK THE GAUGES IN THE CLUSTER YOU HAVE THERE.

FUEL GAUGE SHOULD HAVE 1415 ON IT

THE TACH SHOULD HAVE 1490 ON IT

Please confirm.

Also - while you're at it - the Speedo, there, should be a 1480 as per . .

Quoting: Roadkill
O.K - To summarise the slight balls-up on the gauge front I really need one of the Auto Meter 1480's - but it MUST have a chrome bezel.

ianjpage

did u get the switches ok - are they the right ones?

Roadkill

Yes, thanks.

They appear to be - not checked thoroughly, though.

How much did you want for them ? - I didn't realise they were NEW, new.
