Does RK not have the good old skool licence?

Otherwise, yes you're right.

Limited to towing up to 750kg - with a car weighing up to 3500kg.

So, providing the Mondeo is classed to tow the trailer and the Camero, say 1800kg? The 'new' rubbish licence won't cover you for it

nope!

Roadkill

Yeah, I won't be towing long distance, that's for sure.

I will be looking into the test for trailering at some point, though.

Anyway.

Less than 48 hours back at Castle Roadkill at there's been some progress.

The Power Steering-related stuff has been taken back off of the car to clear the way for the shiny pinto manual rack.
It's been wiped over and put aside for Fubar as it's destined for his IROC.

Believe it or not the engine bay looks even more empty with the steering box and idler unbolted and gone !

I was hoping to start fitting the new headlights but that's been delayed as we'll be making a minor mod to the front wiring loom to facilitate (relatively) quick removal of the nosecone in future.

So work moved onto fitting the "new" high-rise spoiler.

What a complete B@stard that is !

Happily, though, all the hard work is done and I'm just waiting for some bolts to arrive before I can properly test fit it.  (ta, Ian )

I don't foresee any major issues, there.

After that it's back on to the steering and fitting that pinto rack.

After that I've got some worrying oil leaks from the motor that are, as yet, un-investigated so could be anywhere between simple and terminal.

They can wait for now.

The Gauge cluster is currently out on loan to Titsy so I can't easily start her up to begin setting up the carb - which isn't an issue as there's plenty more to be getting on with anyway !

That will be a welcome refresh of the steering and will hopefully sort out the odd clonk it has at the moment.  Sounds like you've had a good weekend Dean i'm just sorry I couldn't come & help

Glad to hear you're getting the spoiler fitted too, thats going to make a big diff visually

Yup.

Just found the bolts I need here at work so that's saved me some £ and a bit of time, too.

May have a go fitting it tonight.

Update - pictures to follow.

Spoiler fitted.

Front Nosecone "broken down" into component parts for spraying.

Headlight cross-member scrubbed and jet-washed (now looks like new).

New headlights re-assembled in buckets with sidelight 'tails.

Headlights mounted in cross-member with new hardware and refurbed springs.

Test-fitted on car.

Waiting for wiring to connect.

Steering next . . . . . .

FUBAR

Just working out which bracketery I'm putting back in the front end . . . not all of it's going back.   Certainly the striker-plate and bracket isn't . . . but I've got to design a plate to neatly fill the void or I doubt the radiator will see enough airflow.

No worries.

It's all just sitting on the Caddy's bonnet at the moment so won't be an issue for another week (or two) when I decide to pull the old girl out later this month.

Roll on summer !!!

A bit limited to what I can do to the 'Maro at the moment.

Got the washer jet lines cleaned and refitted.
Fitted a new line to the washer bottle.
Filled said washer bottle.
Painted and Re-fitted some cross-bracing on the front end.
Top-coated some previously primed brackets (will hopefully fit tonight)
Secured a bit of the front light-loom.

That's about it.

Brackets fitted.

Also took some measurements for the new slam panel (as the old panel / latch isn't being used).

Which reminds me . . . better get drawing.

Titsy

How did the fire-up go? Did you find the oil leak?

I think so . . . . . . . .

Hopefully nothing broke in the process of finding it . . . .

Will know more this weekend.
