I am now - officially - the neighbour from hell !

It's Gazebo city on the front garden . . . TWO 2.5m x 2.5m and ONE 3m x 6m !!!

Thankfully I've got one of the biggest gardens in the cul-de-sac but, still . . . they cover most of it !!

:pikey:

My brother had better show up and get 'er done !

ianjpage

lol it definately did look ... interesting shall we say hehe!

True indeed he best get it done...

I still can't get over the fact that you've paid for a remote starter switch.

I got a simple momentary push switch from Maplins, a toilet roll and electrical tape to make a handle, red + black wire, plus two crocodile clips.

I've gone on to improve it, adding a mini harness and connector under the engine bay, into which I plug my 'diagnostic unit'. Remote starter as above, mini-tach, oil pressure and water temp, plus an ignition power switch so I don't need to go near the key to start or stop.

Admittedly, I did have the gauges lying around spare, but it would still be a cheap setup even if I did have to buy them.

Gator

glutton for punishment

i am getting a temp garage [tent] for the firebird, thats the only drawback to the dodge the other being outside

It was about $15 so actually cheaper than me fannying around going to maplins for switches and clips.   $15 wouldn't even cover my time, let alone diesel and parts.

As for the other add ons . . ???  I just need to kick the motor over . . . It doesn't need to make me a cuppa tea and give me a blow job at the same time.

Yeah.  My garden does now look alot like a South American shanty town.

ianjpage

has he turned up and done any more since the w/end ?

Roadkill

He did about an hour (if that) today . . . his first effort since Friday.

Why do I think I'll be the one finishing this ?

In truth the situation is now one that can't be reversed (easily) . . . the doors are off and there's exposed metal.  One way or another (by one person or another) it's got to get done.

With the Wedding under four weeks away (and Autumn soon after) I don't have long . . . . Cellulose paint requires up to 3 months to fully harden . . . that's 3 months out of the weather and 3 months away from U.V.

With the lack of sun keeping her out of U.V won't be hard but 3 months protected from the other elements . . . ?

That'll be tough.

A lot to accomplish in not alot of time.

I suspect I'll be hitting the panic button this weekend when my brother fails to meet the target . . . .

ianjpage

Ah not good then lets hope he gets on with it for the rest of this week!!

Defo not much time left at all!

Roadkill

I'm glad I've not been holding my breath !

No sign of him today, apparently.

More likely busy from what you've said...

Roadkill

No, he can multi-task.  He can smoke pot and be a complete, useless, unreliable c*nt all at the same time !

Roadkill

Progress . . . of sorts, yes, progress . . . .

No pictures, unfortunately, though.

There's now some grey primer on the car . . . and it's stripped as far as it needs to be . . . but that's it.

Got the 4 hood pins fitted.

Roadkill

Let down . . . . again . . . .

Think I'll be on the welder tonight.

Roadkill

Apparently he showed up a little while ago . . . complaining about lack of space !

Told him we're shuffling the car over tonight . . . . I'll aim to be back at mine for 5.30pm, Ian, as I need to speak to him re topcoat and other bits and bobs . . . . . . (and he assures me he'll still be there, then)

ianjpage

Wonders never cease - to say i was shocked to see him there till gone 7pm was, well, shocking!

Lets hope he's back today to carry on and get it done!!

Roadkill

Absolutely !

As an update :

The roof is now dent free and 90% in primer
Both doors are at varying degrees of done . . . the passenger door is nearly there, the drivers door only just started (rust on the bottom)
Front N/S wing is done and 100% in primer (I think)
Front O/S wing has been started
Rear N/S panel is finished and in primer
Rear O/S panel is started
Neither door shuts or boot shut have been started (but they're pretty good).
Bonnet is in primer (hardly any work needed on it)
Rear panel (behind lights) is cleaned and ready for a rub down
Boot panel is in primer

No removable panels (nosecone, bumper covers, trim, etc . . ) have been started . . .

Some pics from last night.

Replaced Ian and Vicky's "pop-up" Gazebo with this cheapie from ebay (£54 delivered) to finish the bodywork in, paint her in and (hopefully) store her in for a while afterwards . . .

Amazed at the relative quality.  With a couple of very minor tweaks it's keeping 99.9% of the rain and 95% of the wind out.

Just hope it holds together long enough to get it all done !!
