Roadkill

He was round AGAIN today !

Not surprising . . . He's after his money and I've told him I ain't paying a penny more til he's done !

Did a few bits myself in order to keep the ball rolling plus multiple bodywork related ebay purchases . . .

At this rate She'll be "ready" for paint next week - early next week at that.

Cool, sounds promising then!

Roadkill

He intends to finish tomorrow (AKA He wants paying tomorrow)

That means . . . . after a serious flatting session that we're ready for paint THIS WEEKEND !!!

(More stuff for me to buy / find / arrange / organise) . . . .

OMFG seriously - he must really want that money then, but hey least it's getting done!

Lemme know what time you want us round Saturday (and if you need anything doing tomorrow eve?)

Roadkill

I reckon - honestly - I'll have little odds and sods to do Friday night / Saturday but we'll see.

The tail gate will have to come off - not critical but it'll certainly help when painting the shuts.

Saturday I'll definitely appreciate assistance . . . Friday evening I suspect will be running around getting stuff (namely paint and thinners).

Okeis NP - lemme know if you need a hand tonight, otherwise tomorrow it is - fairly early start?

Okies i'll check in later, if not be round fer 9ish unless i hear otherwise

Roadkill

Hmm . . . A lower trim hasn't been done and there's little odds and sods that haven't been finished.

It's close.  Real close.  But it needs a *little* more work before it's ready for flatting . . .

Roadkill

4 Litres of Satin Black (and 5 litres of thinners) ordered . . . . Should be here Thursday.

Got me hands on a Devilbiss GTi gun . . . just need to borow some longer lines and I'm good to go*

*Once the prep work is finished . . . . .

More prep work done tonight.  Spent over an hour rubbing down the underside of the hood ... filled some missed holes on the nosecone - will finish them of tomorrow.

Hopefully finish the "initial" prep work Tuesday, ready to begin final prep on Wednesday.

Will post pictures but it's dark every evening I get finished !

Roadkill

Initial prep work done.  Basically.

Gonna have a tidy up tomorrow inside and out of the car ready for the wet sanding session (and a half).

My concern at the moment is door hinges . . . I brought replacement pins to refurbish my original ones (drivers door is pretty bad) but now they're off and I can investigate properly I think I may actually not need the main pins but the roller-bushes and the pin they go on.

This is going to be a potential hold up.

Ah not good - the bits in kit not what's gone then ... bummer.... spose whilst there off it makes sense to replace / fix em but equally if you got to wait for parts, could delay the painting.......argh not good either way

Roadkill

The Outlook is bleak.

Although intact, the gazebo/paintbooth took a pounding yesterday and today . . . I spent 2 hours re-securing clips and ropes and adding whatever additional ties I could.

Even with the gazebo it's too windy to paint . . not that I'm ready yet, anyway.

My brother just hasn't left me enough time to do this in . . . just one weekend.

I had to work late last night so it was dark by the time I got in . . . Coupled with the wedding in just over a week I'm struggling to see how anything's gonna get done at the moment !!

I did get the airline sorted, though . . twin water traps and the gun . . Got it up to 60psi - no leaks.  That's one thing off the list.

EDIT - Paint and thinners have arrived . . .

ah not good - wind moved it much or just loosened everything ?

Postpone it a couple of weeks, Sammy will understand

Andy

Nothing says you're more ready to commit your lives to one an other than postponing the wedding so you can paint a car.

Indeed, Hallmark probably have a card for such occasion...

Besides Milton Keynes General will probably be able to patch you up afterwards...assuming they find all the pieces

Roadkill

Managed to get half the car itself (ie half the body shell and front wings) wet flatted last night before running out of light . . .

Roadkill

Some pictures - hot of the press as it were . . . My arms are about to drop off . . . need a break !!

Need to wet sand around the engine bay then touch in a couple of areas that've shown up.

Still bloody windy . . . But I've gotta get something painted today or I stand no chance !!!

ianjpage

looking good so far paint gets on soon!

(what's the plan for the w/end ?)

Roadkill

Nothing done in the last 1.5 hours . . . wind's picked up.  Gazebo being ripped apart.

Paint.  Hopefully It's got to be.
