I've done a 7-day, 60+ hours week this week so progress has been a tad slow . . . I have got some pictures, though . . . I'll upload later on.

Camaro must be out by the end of the month - long story but that's all I can wangle.

yikes that a busy week

Cool managed to get a little more time then, prob not a bad thing with the weather at the moment!!

Here's the "test" section . . . Tack TIGed . . . When the final piece was full seam welded it flattened down about 4mm and the length grew about 6mm with the distortion.

Good news is that it stayed straight, and even with the distortion I still maintain the cross-sectional area as I'd allowed a little extra in the first place . . . I also gain ANOTHER 4mm of ground clearance !!!

That is looking pretty nice, definitely will give that bit more clearance that's needed!!!

The U.J has finally showed up, today, apparently . . . . there's also a shiny new distributor thingy in the box, too.

STILL no sign of the alternator tail . . . am getting a tad concerned . . . .

No work will be done on the exhaust today - got too many other bits to do.

Cunning Plan

With about an hour of fettling and test fitting . . . . Almost got the first of 4 contoured !

Nice skill dude.

I am confused. Is that how your tail-pipes will look?

Roadkill

No.  It's just one part of it . . . . It'll all (hopefully) become clear(er) . . .

I'll see if I can find a picture

What under-seal coating is that?

Pictures from this lunchtime . . .

Detail on first finished "port" - This is the top of the cross-over, and will be behind the RIGHT or P/S Header . . . :

Showing all the man-hours :

View from the front  . . . I got the gaps even tighter on the second port . . .

Overall - Note second port isn't finished yet :

Long work . . . but I've got the hang of it now so it's a bit quicker then when I first started.

F Body

That is going to be awesome

Will it be supported by the connecting pipes or brackets and how are you going to weld it

Is that your welding?

No, because of the high risk of distortion it was TIGed for me at a fabricators - they also did the forming on a brake-press.

Butt-welding 1.5mm isn't easy - took the guy ages !!

By the pipes, certainly but intend to get some brackets in there, too . . . will offer it up and get a feel for it . . . .

I'm taking it to be TIGed later today . . . . Hopefully they can plug any gaps I've left.

EDGE

So the headers will be firing in to the ends of the oval or in to the front edge of it near the ends?  Or opposite the exits?

Andy

Nice bit of fab!

Is it heavy? I think I'm struggling to see where this is going in the car, but it looks fricking cool!

F Body

I think you should incorporate a cooking tray onto the top of it, when you stop you'll have bacon roll in 3 minutes

It'll make more sense once the next stage of fabrication starts . . . . It's not an ideal solution but the only solution with the arrangement I have.

looking at the x-over in those pics, looks so much like a plane wing with engines missing lol (can't think of name of plane tho!)

Roadkill

I know . . it does kinda look Aeronautical . . . . I got the "pods" welded up yesterday along with the feed-in tubes . . . .

I'll post a pic and it can speak for itself . . . . . . . .
