One fresh rebuilt and blasted gearbox.

Gearbox with a couple of coats of primer.

Let's just say that their gearbox rebuilding had better be superior to their painting skills.

Was that WIM?

Are you daft ? - I took it to a Borg Warner specialist . .

Titsy

Hmmmm could have sworn you said you'd taken it to WIM, which would have explained the

No, I originally spoke to Hauser re the axle (eventually went to WRE) and they recommended a company for the 'box who do work for Aston Martin to name one.

They have stacks of T5's and T56's in their workshop - some for GM - some not.

Ready for final paint (I'll leave it a while to harden fully first, though)

You gonna paint it hot pink?

The prop is also now in primer (did that early this morning).

I've also added one other little bit to the Spohn order.

Ahh, that reminds me . . . It's an ally diff support/cover.

It was just sitting there begging to be brought . . . .

Well, I've brought the rest of the catalogue - why not I thought ?

She'll be special when she's done.

BTW - Found out at the weekend that my Z28 was the "H.O" option car - Having the High output 4BBL 5.0L pushing 190Bhp, 5 Speed (only) as standard and 3.73 rear ratios.

Kinda makes it a little more special - having that "H" in the Code.

Roadkill

Grinded (ground ?) off some broken brackets from the axle last night.

Smooth.

When removing the old slave cylinders they deposited brake fluid all over the case.

So I took it to that place and got it re-blasted.  £10.

Looks better this time too . . the last time there were still claggy bits in the corners and joins . . but they're all gone, now.

Roadkill

Just reviewing the costs over the last 8 weeks . . .

Spohn $3,155 (Suspension, chassis and brake parts),
BMR $372 (Chassis and Misc. parts),
Jegs $530 (Suspension, brake, fuel and misc. parts),
Advance $85 (Brake cables),
Ebay $ (cant remember $30 ? - new slave cylinders),
Inline tube $200 (S/S brake lines),
JDWerks $434 (Adj. Tokicos)
(Craig) £170 (Eibachs),
W.R.E £294 (LSD fitting, axle re-furb and oil),
Transmission Comp £735 (Gearbox rebuild),
Shot Blasting, paint, misc £50.

$4,806 + £1,249 =

And that's not including all the "little bits" brought before 8 weeks ago !

Oh, and add about $1000 to ship all that lot, as well, at least.

That's some exspense just on the transmission/brakes, I wouldn't be wanting to put it back on the burn pad after that
