Looking into prices for the suspension parts closer to home . . . . I just want to get her done and happily drivable out of the way so I can worry about other projects . . .

wasn't that red Z28 on the cover of hotrod a few years back when they did a feature on emissions legal peformance?

Not sure . . .

JWR has come back with a price of £275+vat for EiBach springs . . .

I'll call US Auto, too . . .

Just been reading about 4 hole spacers on another sit. Seems that they can give you more bottom end power than the carb sat on an open plenum

Roadkill

What ?

The 1" Carb spacer blocks ?

Don't think I've got the Hood clearance.

More like a 2" job minimum the guy who posted was using a 4"

FUBAR

Doesn't it just have a similar effect to the Tunnel Ram style Tall Intakes?
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

No mate, it has something to do with the 4 holes acting as venturi and the mixture being more controled as it enters the plenum

Bit like a Dyson...

Roadkill

Still, No clearance . . . . And I'm not cutting a hood just for that.

Worth bearing in mind, though . . . . Maybe check clearance on the Caddy . . .

No point the manifold you have for the caddy is a tri power with 2 holes not an open plenum

Roadkill

Good point . . . Still needs adapter/spacer plates, though.

Roadkill

It's been a while . . . .

UPDATE

I've now decided to keep the Camaro.

The jobs what need doing are as follows :

Suspension

She's too high and handles like a pig.
To correct this I've now got a set of Eibach Sportlines (cheers Craig) and have just ordered a set of Tokico Illumina shocks.

Next I replace the Panhard with an adjustable one and fit a Strut brace but Shock/springs first.

Gearbox

Yep, surprisingly it's still Fooked ! - Have recently spoke to a guy recommended by Hauser and it's looking like £450 will do the job.
Providing the physical damage isn't too bad.

LSD

Already brought.  Needs fitting.
Spoke to Hauser . . . Will probably book it in in July.

Exhaust

When she's "legal" again I'm going to get a custom dual system fitted.
Simple.

Niggly Bits

My camaro's interior is actually pretty darn good.
It needs some trim pieces fitting (which I already have) and needs the headlining doing (again !).
No biggie, and no major outlay - just little things I wanna get done.

New wheels / tyres

This'll be a next year job for sure - and depends on where my new suspension leaves me !
The plan is to get more rubber on the back.  I've done my measurements and researched rims and tyres and reckon I can get at least 40mm more width on the back.

Further Chassis/Suspension

IF this time next year I'm still in a position to keep her I'll be looking at fully poly-bushing her.
I'll also replace all the track rod ends/ idler arm / etc . . as they're looking a bit tired.
There's a couple of additional bolt-ons that I'll consider but this depends on how she fairs with the new springs and shocks/struts.

Engine

Mine's Fooked.
But she'll probably last another smoke-filled year.
The plan then will be to (LATE next year) to get a 350ci sorted.
Nothing insane . . . just reliable and tough.

Then the Gearbox will explode - but that's another day . . . .

Roadkill

Just spoke to somebody local re fabbing me an exhaust -

Roadkill

She's booked in for an MoT tomorrow morning . . . .

However even my brother isn't 100% sure the exhaust situation will receive a "pass".

Fingers crossed.

ianjpage

well lets hope so mate

Just got the Safari through MOT so that be driven more now

Titsy

It's not looking to good so I was planing on working on my 'maro in Buckingham... If it's not a case of to many cooks do you want me and Beaner to help you drop the box quickly then we can get off to Buckingham... And maybe you can have a crack at some painting for me in return...

What time?

Didn't agree a time - just said to him to "leave it as late as you can so I've got as much daylight as possible"
