I don't know why, but 'abandoned' stuff really interests me..

Disney's River Country

I went there!!!   I remember it being a bit crap TBH.

It says on the comments on that page that it was closed because the state regs changed meaning they could not use the Lakewater for the park anymore
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

don't think there was any, I remember when we were there it basically was just a 'corner' of the lake roped off...  or thats certainly what it seemed like anyway

Few and far between, now, apparently.

The best ones are often privately owned and barracaded-off !!

The rest are barely piles of bricks and timbers . . . there are a few, though, if you research it enough.

Was just going to respond to Roadkill by linking to Ghost Town Gallery but FBody beat me to it :) Quite a few people have already put the leg work in on the web, so I guess its a bit easier to find them! Bet the damn things are a long way apart though.

Roadtrip  Hell Yeah

Cunning Plan

So, inspired by the abandoned theme park and 28DL site, we went exploring today - nothing extreme, just a couple of old barns near my house.. Interesting though, especially the old yank car parts..

Gator

id ave them parts away

EDGE

i've often wasted whole weekends on the 28DL website, some stunning stuff on there, especially the NUTTERS that climb the tower cranes at night and sit at the very end of the massive arms !!!

there's hardly ANYTHING that's not heavily secured to explore round here, anything that looks abandoned is usually patrolled by a man with a hungry dog..

That is my issue with alot of the stuff too, it would be great fun but you only have to get some pr1ck of a guard or junky hanging around to ruin it

Good Point CP, anywhere abandoned near a town with open access is going to be junky heaven, i.e. lots of sharps around

Gator
