Dean, any chance you'll be Ultimate Carnage Compatible or maybe even Battlefield Bad Company 2 Compatible by then?

Steve, can we use the projector that weekend?

We *May* do some fireworks Saturday evening if people fancy it, the only trouble is Poppy is really nervous with them, and we've never had them going off in our own back garden before, it may be a bit much for her... :doggy:

edit: where did the dog smiley go?

That would do you fine, and is comfortably above GTA4, FO:UC and BFBC2 minimum specs to make them nicely playable. (Don't forget to add £104 for windows 7 Pro unless you can get it from somewhere else)

Looks like a good deal.

So should that "cover me" for a while ?

How out-of-date is it already ?

Can the MoBo be added to/parts upgraded - is it the "new" type ?

I suppose what I'm asking is - what's the life expectancy of it ?

FUBAR

The only thing is the AMD AM3 socket type is a bit out of date as its not a "new architecture" machine.

The only new processor type machines they do are overclocked ones

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=43&catid=1444&subid=1712&sortby=priceDesc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=43&catid=1444&subid=1712&sortby=priceDesc

which might not really be ideal for you as, even though they're professionally built, the Overclock is going to stress the machines more and, even if negligibally, its going to affect long term stability & life expectancy.

Or this AMD Phenom II machine which is a bit out of your price range.

It may be worth having a look at places like Dell & Mesh etc to see what packages they offer on a newer architecture, that will give you greater future proofing.

FYI I think the MK Fireworks are Sunday evening that weekend if people want to stick around for that as you all know its walking distance from my place, even if all the PCs etc are packed away by then.

(I have Monday off too.)

Not Needed, we'll just put the HD Telly in the Dining room, its big enough and then allows more usable space in there for Movies & Wii'ing about

+ then ppl can also raid my Blu-ray collection

No Wii Drumkit anymore, the red pad totally died the other week...

fekkin P.O.S.  still at least I only paid £30 for it not £100

The new game coming out next month has a MkII drumkit now though which is supposed to be a big improvement, However I dount i'll have the spare cash to get it pre-Nov.

FUBAR

This is now just 3 weekends away

Anyone can arrive from about 10am on Friday Nov 5th onwards
Can everyone bringing a PC please up so that I know how many we definitely have gaming.

Paul M
Andrew M
Paul (Jo)
Vicky (Part-time)

Non Gamers
Steve-O
Jo
Sammy
Shifty
Twiddly-Girl?

General Entertainments:
All our usual banter & hospitality
Nintendo Wii (Just bring games if you want too) (Mario Kart?)
My myriad of DVDs / Blurays
'n'
& The (aah)

PC Gaming: (in no particular order)
- Flatout: Ultimate Carnage (Finally!! )
- Unreal Tournament 2004
- Battlefield Bad Company II  (See Specs list in next post)
- GTA IV Multiplayer (if people have copies, this isn't pirate-able as far as I know)
- Battlefield II
- BF 1942 as well knowing Dean

Food
I will make a Chocolate Mousse (Not Mint), i'm also planning on making 2 curries for Saturday evening, although looking at what i've got here they won't be huge, so there's unlikely there'll be enough for everyone to have a full meal portion so something else will also be needed I reckon. I'll make 1 Lamb fairly hot one & 1 chicken mild(er) one. + Naans etc.
I'll also provide some general Tortillas dips etc and some Fruit (Probably Pineapple)
This is included in the admission price of fussing the dog on arrival. (Like you have a choice)...

What do people want to do for other food?  do you want to bring "day-snax" & we all chip in for communal meals? if so anyone got an general Ideas?
My General ideas would be...
I can do a Cost-co run & get some Tray-Pizzas, large desserts etc
Monster-Chinese Order.
Pizza Go-Go?
Bacon for Bacon Sarnie Breakfasts
All of the above...?

OR... does everyone want to totally sort their own?
The former is probably easier.

Sunday Night

Sunday night is the Milton Keynes Firework display just a stones-throw away from my House in Campbell Park, the plan is to head over there that evening for anyone staying on, probably watch a movie or something afterwards.

Parking wise the driveway will be empty, so without disturbing the neighbours there will be room for 4 cars.

Should be a Good weekend
