Crazy

Free climbing, I just can't imagine the shear physical effort to climb it with the tool bag, well you only slip once

Andy

This has been up and down on so many websites.

If you read the guys blog, his first mistake was posting it on the internet, as it shows his 'friend' climbing without any safety lines what so ever (that small like and clasp can hardly be called 'safe')

He's pulled his version but like everything on the web, once it's up there isn't a lot you can do to stop people broadcasting it everywhere.

HardRockCamaro

There is not enough money in the world to get me to climb that.

And no safety harness!

The bit where he climbs outside it and heaves himself up on to a ledge with no safety line, you must be joking!!!

Fieldy

the scariest thing I have ever watched

EDGE

what the hell were they doing up there, my money's on changing the bulb....

at that kind of height I think a parachute would be better than a safety line !

art b

thats  awesome ...but i bet it even worse going back down.....
This forum needs, ''YOU'' posting,Not just reading ! :moon:

Shifty

If I were fit enough i'd give it a go, what an awesome job.

Never in a Million years would I climb that.

Seriously though, from 1700ft + they should legally be allowed to Base-jump back down from the top of the tower.  Given some of the transitions they had to do between climbing structures they would be nasty in reverse, it'd actually be safer to strap the toolbag to your front & jump off.
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

Pod

Ok, that has made me ill now.

There are no amount of safety harnesses that would make me go anywhere near that. I mean, 17ft up and I'm bricking it!

Though I'm gonna start climbing next week, on the new wall in MK.

One of the reasons is to ease my fear of Gravity

Roadkill

Give me a harness with dual lanyards and I reckon I could climb that fekker.

A fear of gravity is quite irrational... now, a fear of landing on something hard from a great height, thats a fear worth having
