Been putting the screws on Virgin today

After finding out that we can go also go fibre optic with BT Infinity

So as of 1st Feb we are going from 10mb @ £38.25 a month to 50mb @ £35.00 a month

Also getting an Engineer to install the Modem, coz we currently only get 2/3mb out of 10mb, so I'm expecting at least 20mb minimum from 50mb

all done and dusted,
couldnt fault v/m,

they ran the cable to the house a week b4 the install, telephoned 2 days b4 the instll to check on times, all installed and working in 1.5 hrs, great tv pic,...

well its been over 3 weeks since the install...
and dispite many differing opinions on the internet, its been nothing but a success

we have been very happy with it overall,

virgin cust services called us the day b4 install to confirm things,
the cable was pulled into the house the week before the install date....
the install took around 1 1/2hrs,

the phone, broadband and cable tv were all working within this time

the virgin hd box is easy to use,
with great catch up tv,iplayer, itv player,4od,etc,
the s/d tv is better much than the sky signal, with all the channels available,
and the hd content is excellent,

the broadband is always at around 10 meg, through a coax cable modem
and the home page is as good as any

all in all a good move for us  :thumb:

just need to hook the v box up to the projector now,

Sounds like they have got their act together at last then? they were beyond a joke when I last had to deal with them, but that was quite a long time ago (prob. 5 years?)

We have just kick started our BT deal as the new house we live in wasn't covered by anybody else

Not a bad deal tbh as I now get access to all of BT's openzones etc....

£20 odd pound per month including phone.

quite a good idea bt have there 2 million hotspots, through users routers,

you can also sign up for it even if your not on t broadband, by putting an additional router on your system..

i wonder how long b4 others catch on to that....

Not really much use to me, I watch less than two hours TV a week on average

art b

is it me or are virginmedia, advertising EVERYWHERE..

re the tivo box,
probably ok if your a nerd that needs stuff because its there...
but the samsung v+ box is a gr8 bit of kit and does more than enough imho..

looks like you would have to be daft to pay for one ....

The TiVo box will be available in mid-December. Magic powers don't come cheap: the box itself costs £200, followed by a £26.50 per month charge. If you don't have a Virgin phone line, that fee goes up to £32.50. Installation costs £40.
