Roadkill

We'll have a newbie this time as well, hopefully - A friend of Sammy's from work - Rob.

He's a "a bit" of a gamer.

FUBAR

Yeah this is nearly upon us as well isn't it

whats the verdict on Battlefield BC2? have people now got this game?

Dean, when you next get time @ home run a quick test on http://www.speedtest.net/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">http://www.speedtest.net/  as well, we'll probably need about 1.5 - 2mb per person if we're to have a rented server for BC2.

Did another test at 8.20am this morning - 5.76 -ish.

I'm guessing that's a fairly bad time to test it ?

FUBAR

hmm thats not really going to be enough bandwidth for us all to play BC2

we might have to write that one off...

Battlefield 3 Comes out later this year, if its the "True sequal to Battlefield 2" that they're billing it as then maybe it'll have LAN support.

What's that - the 5 or 12 ?

Normally I see 12 . . . I'd've thought the weekend would be generally faster ?

FUBAR

aah ok, yeah 12 should be ok, 5 won't.
sorry misunderstood

1 evening i'm almost certain i'll be ducking out as Matt & Bish get home from their world travels late next week so there will be some sort of party 1 evening which I will be going too, no idea when though, but whichever evening that is you're more than welcome to use my PC if you want to Chris.

The list so far :

Half Life 2 Deathmatch - Should already have this from last LAN

Half Life 2 Deathmatch: Source - Currently £5.99 at Steam

Team Fortress Classic - (I've never played it) - £2.99 at Steam

Flat Out : UC - Need to buy - no prices as yet.

Battlefield 1942 (B.o.B) - Should all have

UT2004 - Should all have

BF2 (selected maps) - Should all have

Trackmania Nations Forever - FREE at Steam

GTA4 - Maybe a limited few who can play this ??

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - £19.99 at Steam (and there's add-ons).

I think HL2:DM and HL2 DM Source are the same thing...

For BF: BC2 if we're definitely goin ahead with it (ideally 4-8players) I'll need to speak to Rackage about booking a server for 1 month.  I'll need to know this ASAP. So its ready & running this weekend (Maybe have a practise beforehand over 'tinterwebnet.)

Half Life Deathmatch: (Source) - is the deathmatch from the original Game updated with the HL2 Source game engine.

Half Life 2: Deathmatch - Is the Deathmatch from HL2 and what we were playing last time.  This is the one we should all have.

Roadkill

I thought "Source" had different maps.

I'll be purchasing Bad Company today.

Also might look at Counter strike too.

Roadkill

There'll be the (larger) spare room available for crashing - there's the nursery stuff in there but still space for an air bed or two.

I'll be moving the Caddy onto a neighbours drive so there'll be a couple of spaces at least for parking.

FUBAR

I've just ordered the BF:BC2 Server from Rackage, it should be up & running Tuesday this week ready for the weekend.

Now I just need to learn how to manage it...
