Well not unless you fancy some burns to the arm when the side airbags deploy

Wow, that ended badly...

Am i right in thinking the car has an inbuilt phone, I take it that bit at the end was him calling the recovery service? Is it done by bluetooth or is there a phone fitted to the car to do that?

"General Motors' take is.................

"The incident is an indication that the system is working as it should. GM spokesman Alan Adler said the car is designed to "predict" an imminent rollover and deploy the curtain airbags proactively"

i.e " we screwed up and made the sensor too sensitive, because we didn't have an R&D budget. Frankly we don't give a s**t about our customers, so who cares"

Surely a bank angle sensor that comes into play at about 45 degrees would be more appropriate for that application?

you have to wonder how well developed the 5th gen really is, this is just the latest in a line of stupid faults that reflect a poorly developed bargain basement car, and pretty looks aside an embarrassment to the Camaro name plate.

erronious airbags
shorting battery cables
cracking nose cones
squealing brakes 'cured' by stick on tyre weights FFS!!!

all faults that should have come to light in testing..

Not really seeing as it's built on the same platform as the current Holden Commador AKA Vauxhall VXR

Indeed but better than unintended acceleration

that one turned out to be dumbarse people not knowing what the pedals do..... the lexus that four people were killed in in the US showed the throttle at 100% and the brake was not applied.

the Camaro really does have some massive design flaws, you have to wonder if it should be withdrawn from the market place until its made safe, as it currently isn't. There is no situation where any accidental airbag deployment is acceptable. the car should be on two wheels before that bag goes off.

GM are the trabant of modern cars these days, you have to wonder how long they can do this badly....
