looks pretty grim in sweaty sockland....
160+ mph winds onthe cairngorm's....

i have skied in 60mph winds there, and part way down the mountains you were blown to a standstill

On a serious note those timber purlins look incredibly flimsy considering their centres are so great.

Add 6" of snow and I don't think they'll last long.

art b

a good point ..
they are they are 4'' deep glued and screwed to the batten s[ as in a laminated i beam] and doubled up where they sit on the 3x3 steel box,

i have hung ten stone of me, in the middle of each of them and there at 650mm centres......
there is always an option to strenghten from underneath

time will tell...

I see you're using corrugated roofing, I will now share the only think I know about corrugated roofing.

'Always drill/nail/pin down corrugated sheet in the hills, not the valleys'

But I'm sure you knew that already!

The centres look more than that on the photo so maybe not so bad.  Remember though that a long-term imposed load will often do more damage than a short term one.

Off the top of my head a common allowance when calculating loadings regarding snow is 25kg/m2 (especially a "flat" roof) . . . . Doesn't sound a lot but times that by the total area of the roof and you'll quickly be talking over half a ton/tonne.

the valleys are just that,
