Sadly, not the Mercury XR7 variaty, far from it!

Ford Cougar, 2.5 Duratec V6, lovely rumble. Come with the 'X-Pack' option with everything heated.

Got it back last night, had a blast on the motorway, seems to pull in anygear with a nice but not too offensive burble. Not quite as good as a V8, but still enough to keep me happy for now!

Just need to shift my Mondy and I'll be happy!

Fieldy

Always liked these and the Pumas myself

FUBAR

Fair play m8, hope you enjoy it (sounds like it so far )
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

What have you got?

Cheers for the comments guys. I think its a pretty underrated car really, but then it didn't have a huge release over here like the Puma. Technically its American made, but finished off to EU standards in Germany... so I should be allowed to your meets, right?!

Because everyone told me not to on here (It's the diesel).......

Taking it easy with it at the moment. I want to run it for a while as I realllllly like it too. Going to run it on 20& vegetable oil soon too.

Anyway, back to your Cougar.

Engine Pictures? Interior?

I have never really seen much of them, they didn't seem like a 'big' model at the time.

Mate, whatever makes you happy at the end of the day! Besides there are always exception to the rules! Home brewing fuel eh? Doesn't the gov still want people to pay duty on that?

I'll hook some up when I get to take some at the weekend.

It's the same engine as the Mondeo ST24, and the block and heads are the same as the ST200, I think the only difference being the throttle body and some finer tuning.

Having only driven it home from the dealer and back and forth to work once it puts a smile on my face, has a lovely burble about 3.5k when the other inlet butterflys open.

Interior is all leather and immaculate. I drove to Woking to get it as it was a part ex, to find out the previous owner lives down the road! He's an elderly bloke who really looked after it.

Andy

Btw, live the wheels on yours! Set it off a treat.

Yah, I think they are the nicest XJ wheels compared to the criss-cross ones you usually see.

Well, not home brew, just 20% vegetable oil to every 80% diesel, just to help reduce the cost a little. Although I am averaging 35mpg out of it

Apparently, you can use 2500 litres tax free. There's an official website explaining about it if anyone is interested, I will find it.

Yeah, those lattice ones look like a right pita to clean and are really bland

Nice bit of colour on yours.

Fair play, sounds ideal. She must feel like driving a tank compared to a Mondy!

A bit, but fits my driving style nicely, slow and straight.

I just stick cruise control on for commuting to work and tank along around 55. If you touch 70 or over the MPG just disappears. However, it is old engine technology and it is a heavy vehicle, so I am not too bothered.

I still have mine too, but I need to repair it in the summer to get it back on the road, then either sell it or give to someone in the family.

Yeah, I'm still not sure I'll be able to sell mine. Considering laying it up or scraping it. Would be ashame as it has a peach of an engine which only recently had a cambelt and clutch change!

Just the rest of the car falling apart around it.

Driving mine to and from work now and playing games with the MPG clock. Best I've averaged so far is 28.5...
