Hi guys, this is mainly aimed at the modellers on here, but anyone else who may know please chip in.

As part of a Christmas present to my Dad I'm getting a kit together for him to take part in the local Hot Rod clubs Slot Car Drags.

The Hellfire Hot Rodders have a scaled 1/4 mile in which there is a pro and comp tree, full timing slips with RT, ET and scale speed, all that is need is a car. The Parma kits which make up the chassis are sourced by the guy who owns the track, all that is needed is the body to go on top. Now I've been told 1/32 scale revell bodies fit the wheelbase of the chassis, so I'm on the hunt for either or both a 1967 Mustang Coupe (not fastback) and a late 3rd Gen Camaro.

My googling skills have so far got nothing, any good places to look or buy?

Hmm good question, I've never looked at 1:32 scale as its just too small for my preference of 1:12 minimum.

I'm guessing because you'll be using it for Scalextric racing anything Die-cast is an immediate no because of the weight, which leaves you with a problem because 1:32 is very small for plastic car kits, not a lot of makes go below 1:24 in this format.

I've just noticed i'm sure another problem with searching for a 1:32 scale Mustang kit... all you get is P-51D types with wings

Found a guy selling 1/25th scale (the actual scale I need) kits. It looks like ill be getting him a '72 Challenger and a '67 GT Fastback as that's the closest they do.

Ryan - have you stumbled upon anywhere selling third gen kits? Even in due cast it seems a rare find!

The Only Die-cast 1:18 scale 3rd gen i've ever seen is a Police car model of an earlyshape made by Sun Star.  I've got this model. it seems they also do a civilian version too, but again its an 82 camaro rather than the later shapes you & I have

As for plastic kits Revell (I think) do a 1:24 scale T-Top 3rd gen (which I have made up like my old camaro) and they also do a 1:8 scale model which i'm in the early stages of building to mimic my current camaro.  This kit is 24" long when finished so is no joke, its also not cheap but the kits are out there.

This is the early 3rd gen kit: (The only one on ebay UK)

shipping is expensive on a box that big too
