FUBAR

It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

Cunning Plan

Wow that did a lot of damage!
1968 VW T2 Bay Bus (currently being restored and upgraded)
1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ (modern classic daily driver)

Big Mouse

How did that happen? he wasn't going fast.

The old bill wasn't very quick off the mark, couldn't have got there any slower if they tried

Andy

There's a huge thread on Pistonheads, 90% bollocks and bashing, but some speculate that the driver wasn't insured and he actually did a runner, leaving the owner (the passenger at the time) to face the heat.

Some reckon it was loosing it in the hatching and it turning the rear end, but just after the van goes past you can see he still has the front wheel straight and seems to have very little time to correct it.

Bloody hate these events where you get people goading others on to rag it, only a matter of time before someone gets in a nasty.

Roadkill

Did someone hide a MASSIVE magnet in that tree ?

On the last couple of threads of the MOCGB thread there is a video taken by the owner who was on the opposite side of the road, it shows the accident cause better in my opinion. The guy rags it pretty hard out of the junction, shifts hards into second and breaks loose, i guess on all the crap in the hatched area, panics, stands on the brakes and the rest is history.

The owner was at the event in another car, an American Police car and his mate was driving the Mustang.

"There was no driver error"

Err.

I beg to differ, Sir.  I'd say it was 100% driver error.

It's not like the road threw the car against the tree . . . !

Fair play, though.  It was his own stupid fault for letting his mate drive his car . . . and now he's defending said mate for trashing his car.

That, boys and girls, is true Bromance !

It can happen...look how that ditch reached out and grabbed me off the road!

Motorama

Yep it was driver error, it didn't help being on the hatched area but it was down to an unskilled driver. He's probably banged it into second a dozen times before and chirped the rear tyres but never on a dirty road. You can hear him revving the nuts of it while waiting for the Focus to go

Roadkill

Wonder if the insurance is covering it ?

Unlikely I'd guess.

Andy

Was he insured to drive it? You'd have to be pretty silly to try and pull a stunt like that in front of a copper, but if the owner was on the other side of the road...

No wonder getting 'American Car Insurance' for new cars is getting pricey.

Andy

Mustangs haven't been having a lot of luck leaving shows recently...

The guy in the black Mustang leaving Wheelsday is an A R S E H O L E. he had been doing burnouts in the queue leaving Wheelsday, surrounded by other cars and pedestrians. Every year Surrey Street Rodders who host the event have major issues with the MOD who own the land and there is a strict no burnout policy when leaving. Idiots like him and a few others put the running of the best one day show in the UK in jeopardy.

Andy

You get that impression from the video, all great him putting on a show for those watching, but not exactly nice for the organisers or the poor bugger behind who has just got pebble dashed!

I see the guy that posted that video also has one of a black 2nd Gen Camaro that I think Rich had a word with when he thought it was a good idea to do a burn out on a blind corner outside the Harte and Magpies, what a muppet!
