a two can kit has enough fermentables not to need extra sugar ..

Mine was a 2-can and still wanted an extra 80g of sugar.

Realizing that I've downed 38 pints in a little over two weeks, I decided to put my next purchase on hold for a couple of weeks

The only excuse I can make is the weather has been very hot

you will only need some priming sugar.

which is minimal and can be found in the kitchen...

Well I bought some brewers sugar anyway.

Assuming I get a chance to kick it off this weekend it should be good and ready for Brighton

Yup, 80g of it.

I read the instructions, three times.  That's what it said.

another lid will enable co2 to be added ...

That's what I thought . . . I'll have a search . . .

assuming you have a keg with a 2'' opening ,

wilkos should have a lid for your keg,and the caplets,

get chris to have a look when hes there ...

I was toying with the idea of getting a bucket with a tap with an air lock (this is the type my Dad had in his home-brewing days).

The bucket with the Lakelands kit just relies on you "cracking the lid" on the bucket every-now-and-then to release pressure. Seem a bit cheap.

Is there a reason you can't just drill a hole in your lid any fit one of these..?

I didn't bother . . . after the initial foaming it regulated itself O.K in the end . . .

i have holes in my fv's to fit an airlock,
it gives you an idea as to how things are going...but not really needed,

just make sure you keep derbis and fruit flies out of the bucket....

Mines gone quiet, not had to release any pressure since the weekend..hopefully ok.

Did manage to get nearly 30 bottles off my family...only asked them last Friday!  Piss heads

...some of them might be mine...
