is it a permanent fix tho!?

Roadkill

It is, yes.  Hopefully.  It's not rained hard enough to fully test it since the repair but if this doesn't work I honestly don't know what will.

Plus I only slid off the roof once !  Bonus !

We're away on hols then for our wedding anniversary.

FUBAR

Next Car Game...

Now has a name - NCG-Wreckfest

It also has functioning LAN and online Multiplayer  Just in time

Well I've decided to 'pep-up' my current PC rather than spent loads of money on a new one... I've rebuilt it once recently adding a 120Gb SSD for windows to live on meaning it now boots up in under 20 seconds I also added the second gfx card I bought a while back with is now working perfectly fine in glorious SLI and got my sound card re-installed & working today too.

I've just decided to buy a i7 960 processor from ebay for £62 which will boost it from 2.66gHz to 3.2gHz, that will arrive in time for the PC to be rebuilt again before the LAN.

Costs:
2nd GFX card: £175
SSD + Cable & adapter: £65 (these are SO cheap these days!!)
Processor: £62

Total: £302 (about 10% of what I was considering spending)
Happy Days

My P.C's running epically slow nowadays so I'm wondering what it'll make of a LAN.

ianjpage

Well if you want dean we can wipe and reload it before hand?

A Refresh might be a good idea.

Oh and on a separate note... FALLOUT 3 WORKS NOW!!!!

Lol bet you a happy fubar today then now it working ;)

FUBAR

CPU Arrived today, now fully operational at 3.2gHz instead of 2.66 and no windows re-install required

I don't think 2 hours for a full strip down, dust, CPU change, rebuild, BIOS setup and Victory Forum post is too bad TBH

Cool not bad at all then, have you noticed the difference though yet?

As an aside,  will still be coming to lan but will not be around on the Saturday much as need to pop to see my mum as she having her hip done the week before so won't be very mobile and both my sisters aren't around on the Saturday,  will still be there Friday,  and Sunday as well as Saturday night but just not during the day

Roadkill

That's Understandable.

She'll be flying once it's healed - my Dad was.

Incursus

Well I've kinda triple booked myself.. so I'm busy Friday and Saturday evening but free during the day Saturday (possibly free later in the evening) and Sunday..after I've thrown some paint on the walls/ceiling.

ianjpage

FUBAR

As I said to Ian at the weekend . . . Not sure yet . . . I have to hand-over a massive chunk of the project I'm managing at the moment in the morning . . . Depending on how that goes could mean as late as 6pm or as early as 2pm.

I'll know more tomorrow as I'm meeting with my site manager to go through progress.

ianjpage

Spoke to dean about this at weekend and he thinks he be home about 3ish,  did you need a lift with your stuff or you sorted?

On a separate, but related note : my mouse packed up a while ago and a few of the keys on my keyboard are getting a bit sticky . . .

What's a good recommendation for a (around £40 or less) WIRELESS mouse and keyboard combo ???

I've seen a few but none are like mine (with the receiver doubling up as a charging dock for the mouse) . . . most, now, seem to rely on the nano (USB) receiver and I reckon that wouldn't pick up the signals too well as the P.C itself is in a cupboard under the worktop . . . . A desk-mounted receiver really is ideal . . .

This is the only applicable one on Overclockers.

PC world has more choice (Anything Logitech will be fine) just make sure its not a 'compact' mouse designed for use with Laptops, day-to-day will be ok but using one of these for a weekend of gaming twice a year is not good.

It's the "nano receiver" . . . Isn't that the plug in USB thingy ?

Those that show a picture seem to just show that, anyway.
