Just a suggestion . . . it was Ryan's post about pictures got me thinking . . how about a photography section.

Before Martyn faints, It can be a switchable one, like the R.C and Gaming ones but I reckon it'd be good to post some favs from the up-coming shows.  I know Andy often gets some good shots at the Pod . . . also (C.P was it you ?) I think posted a picture thread of "cool stuff" before . . . stuff like that.  Anything, really.

A lot of us have decent cameras . . . let's use them.  :pass:  <-- EDIT - Where's the "pass" smiley ??? ???

Gets my vote though not tried uploading photo's to this forum yet..
I did notice it says "Restrictions: 4 per post, maximum total size 192KB, maximum individual size 128KB", might be a bit of an issue as even as .jpg's my pics are generally over 10MB.

:chiny:

Happy to sort that later as very easy to add/remove forum areas :)

Have upped it a bit to 10mb - need to monitor this as could very easily fill up the space, but for now it's on a 10mb per post limit, but no limit other than that (i.e. you can technically have unlimited 10mb attachemtns!)

If it is not hassle, please could you move this thread into there:

Smallest non cropped starts at 10mb from my new camera, but as space is limited we can just host on another site as we did on the old forum.

:thanks:

Ah OK, them's big files then!

Quote from: Cunning Plan on March 10, 2015, 04:49:22 PMIs that what you were thinking?

Yes, It was.

I shoot in large, fine, on the 5DII, not sure how big each picture is but an hour or so shooting normally works out about a Gig or so.

I normally put them on PB anyway . . .

Yeah in RAW they come out at around the 25mb mark, converting them to jpg can half the size depending on the amount of detail.

Everything gets put on OneDrive but neither "[ img ]" tags or the embed link seem to work..

Do you save two file types ?  If I know I'll be editing the pictures I shoot in RAW and small/medium-sized JPEG (just for reference/viewing) . . . If I'm just taking candid shots I drop the RAW and up to a large JPEG to save space.

I always shoot in RAW.  Simple enough to convert them to JPEG later for storage.  I suppose I would switch to JPEG if I was out and my memory card was getting full, not gotten close to that though.. Even after 3 weeks in Canada.

Quite impressive, you even got in his poop!  :hosesh:

I didn't realise, but if you click on the picture, it enlarges to its native size and that really is impressively detailed!
