Ok... Underseal.

Is there a way that this can be done with a Spray gun & compressor? what products do you have to use? how good is it? are there difficulties?

The alternative is the Same Hammerite Paint on stuff I used on the Old Car.

Both myself and Shifty are planning on undersealing Cars this month

Also If i could Borrow some more Axle Stands that would be cool

you can either schultz or wax oil both available from MK paint schultz is the heavier duty of the 2 but also the mesiest

FUBAR

Whats the cost like of this schults stuff? is it good? waxoyl seems fine for inners of panels etc to me but not so great for the actual floorpan.

Picked from another forum:
Whats the difference between Schultz and Waxyoy?
Shutz that I've used is a Black spray paint that sticks to anything and sets to a hard, stone chip proof, matt finish.

Waxoyl or the similar Wax Oil copy is waxy oily stuff that forms a layer of greasy crud on the surface of the metal.

Graeme,
What about POR15? can that be used with a compressor?

Would it be ok to use the Compressor & spay gun at the Barn?

Ok just been over the body shop and this is there recomendation.

3M cavity wax all the open X members and box section would need a couple of cans @ #5 a can

then 3M schultz over everything on the underside for total protection again would need about 6 cans @ #5 each

If you and shifty bought together might be able to get some discount

FUBAR

Cool cheers m8, Cavity wax for the inners of doors / Rear Wing cavitys (Behind boot plastics) also i'd assume? or Schultz on that too?

Sounds like a plan to me...

Will I need any of this stuff?

Up to you matey, i can try and borrow the one from the bodyshop or you and shifty can go halves

FUBAR

For the price i'd rather not borrow stuff, just incase...

Its £15 for the gun & £10 for the extra set of disposable heads

Good thinking Batman...

be VERY careful to completely cover every inch of the prop too, even a small ammount of shultz on it will create a vibration by throwing it out of balance..

schultz is pretty thick stuff, but is truly excelent.. it can also be over painted, so you can repaint the floorpans afterwards to regain some of that 'as new' look

Your gonna need to mask up quite a bit things like brake lines also need to be visable

philoldsmobile

yup.... t'aint just a point and squirt job..

You can get lots of different underseal, oil based ,water based some dry some stay tacky with a certain amount of waxoil in them watch which one you use for what. And you WILL get it every where if the car isnt high enough your face especially. It does burn a bit especially in eye (trust me i know)
