I thought you said it was all sorted when you got it !

The exhaust was necessary, but I did buy a pricey & shiny (but worth it IMO) one and the steering wheel was just shiny things. the door seals need doing & this actuator has just started playing up.

still better than the old one.

Winter's nearly here...
As my car will be living outside for most of winter i've decided I need to get a good, water & weatherproof cover to prevent it spending the next 5 months constantly wet, so just sent an e-mail off to Covercraft asking for a quote for one of their weathershield covers.  I know its not going to be cheap but i think I might be asking for some Early Xmas Money for this one...

Oh and semi related to the above, when I left yours last night Dean there was water in the Front Dome light lens in my car, this has never happened before but might be something to do with it being parked on flat ground.  So that needs investigating pretty sharpish!

T-Top seals, then ?

I hope not because they are expensive!, but they look & feel like new, and it wasn't leaking though the actual T-Top but seemingly through the top of the light housing... + the headliner was completely dry, even the very edges of it under the light housing. Its strange but as I said its never done it before, but the roof drains very well being parked on my drive.

'thats good to know, I know you highly recommend them, but as you say, they aren't cheap!, but you get what you pay for

It might well be a leak else where mate and the water iss tracking along the wire and dripping of into the dome light. Had this on another car where the hole letting the water in was on the other side of the car. Places to check are any screws that go into plastic threaded inserts as the water loves to gt through by running down the threads

Pod

Could it just be condensation?

FUBAR

No, the recess in the lens was full, I only noticed it because it overflowed & dripped when I went round corners, I stopped at the shop on the way out of Furzton & emptied the lens out in the carpark I had to do it again when I got home so water must be collecting somewhere up there...

I should really do the same if I keep the Z28 - but that's alot of cash !

What guarantee do they give it ? 12 months ? . . .

FUBAR

Their other ones which aren't quite as storm resistant are cheaper, but there are also cheaper brands. I'm not sure on the guarantee... but Martyn has had his for 3 years by the sounds of it and last time I saw it it still looked new.

I would have a look at california car cover http://www.calcarcover.com/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">http://www.calcarcover.com/ all there covers have 4 year guarantee and the weather stateside is far more severe than here. Im sure carl could get one for you if you asked him. Go for something like the storm weave

They do from a '61 Caddy Sedan DeVille . . . Just not a '58 . . . Which is surprising as I'd've guessed that the '59 would be very popular . . .

If you own a pre-1965 vehicle and would like to order a cover, please call 800-423-5525 and ask for sales.

Ahh, I just went to "select a vehicle" . .

Thankfully the Cadillac has a home anyway . . .

F Body

The only problem I've had with mine is if it's very windy, it has a strap under the middle of it but it allows the whole cover to get inflated.
It can't blow off but I'd see if they could add some addition straps to remove the problem.

Given the current price of Electricity it's probably cheaper to buy the cover

True, but a cover won't keep her warm . . . .

I suppose I could re-direct the central heating out there . . . ?

I can imagine it now... "why is it so cold in here..." says Sammy, "oh i've had to move the bedroom radiator to the garage to keep the caddy warm..."

Its quite good on our drive in that respect, because of the houses & the Garage its quite sheltered there from prevailing wind.
