I believe they may be related to the Package groups 1, 2 and 3.

Mine is a Package 3 car... according to the brochure I have

But remember :

Really difficult to identify individual option packages because they varied year by year and even dealer by dealer

The production location is identified by one of the VIN digits is it not? It was a California built car I think.

It is, but it also makes an appearence on the RPO codes.
California plant = Van Nuys

Exhaust Works:

Well recently i've been replacing a section of the exhaust that had rotted infront of my Stainless Borla system, this included a new 3" Stainless High-flow Catalytic Converter...

Before:

New Piece:

After:

Now I know the right hand end looks messy but its only temporary, because I had to cut off the old cat I lost a length of Y-Pipe so have had to make a Butt-joint under a band clamp which will be welded up soon.

Another part of this was re-fitting some of the Borla system to help with the ground clearance problems i've been having.  Hopefully when I can take some pics to compare in daylight there will be a difference...

Here's the before pics:

got an email stating some go (very slightly) faster parts will be here in 6 - 10 days..

when i say go faster, i mean a free flow MAC air filter, and an FR500 steering wheel...(same as edges)

kinda like this one, but blue..

apparently they give better results than a cold air kit, its a replacement cone that goes inside the stock housing.

you just cant see it...

FUBAR

Opinions guys...

I've also got on order a new set of t-top body seals and outer edge seals because the seal on the passenger side is leaking water into the footwell along the A-Pillar where its got a cut in it.  So they're all being replaced.

I have also noticed recently that MDM have got NOS Original GM T-Bars in stock so, i'm also considering buying one of those too because the seals are all bonded on etc & are being replaced anyway but my question 1st is this:

Is this treatable / repairable on the T-Bar (Pic is front corner, Drivers side)

or shall I just stick a new one in?

Also what would be my options for rust proofing either this panel or a new one before it goes on the car? its fully removable obviously and cannot warp AT ALL in any process applied to it (so Galv is out)

Remove blast repaint and fit back, job done

A lot of F Body owners buy the pattern door/roof seals and regret it

Looks treatable, remove the loose rust and treat with a rust treatment and then repaint

The T-Bars are Original GM ones and the new seals I've ordered are Soffseal ones, so should be good

This is with some Black, rubbery looking stuff that is a bugger to get off... does anyone know what it is?? as i'm assuming i'll need to re-apply it for the new seals.

Rubber mastic, make sure you clean off all the old mastic using a solvent cleaner. I'd also recommend using a heater in the garage at this time of year otherwise it won't cure, or worse the damp will get into it

Rocky

Softseal are rubbish on 2nd gens have heard they are worse on 3rd gen always use GM ones

FUBAR

I had some soffseal rubbers for my old car and they were really good.

Its hardwired to the aerial socket which is exactly what i'm looking for.

Then some close colaboration with El Shiftini will occur to sort out speakers & amps

Obviously not buying from the states because it would cost a fortune to ship something that could be made here for way less... especially as he very kindly posts all the dimensions LOL

+ the t-tops still have to fit in the boot...
