As said - Stick in some thick oil . . . add some oil treatment, too.

Then keep an eye on it for a couple of months.

Rocky

If your oil pressure gauge drops you will need a thicker oil as the engine will start to show signs of wear.

After a conversation with Dean & Shifty this evening it appears that the pistons are seized on my rear brake callipers...
Handbrake still works but foot Brake does Sweet FA.

Time to find out about sorting that asap seen as the car is hibernating atm, seems like the ideal time to dismantle things

JWR - New Callipers are £153 each including £50 core charge.

Think i'll try & free them first...

I'd get a quote from someone in the states, TBH . . . at that price you've got quite a good margin for savings.

Worth a look first, though.

FUBAR

Seen as I forgot to take my Car Keys to the barn on Saturday (Doh!!) meaning this job is still outstanding I popped to Halfords at lunch today and have picked up a couple of new tools...

1 -  Calliper Piston rewinding tool (No more awkward G-Clamps!)
2 - Special socket for taking off Wheel nuts, basically its got a Nylon jacket so it doesn't damage the wheels, was an impulse buy this one

No A/F allen keys, then.

Just kidding.

£21 not cheap, but I figure that it'll last donkeys years, will be very handy and between me & lending it to peeps will get a fair bit of use.

NO NO NO !

Never attack a job like that assuming that it'll all go O.K.

If it's involving 20 year old hydrualic lines something's bound to go wrong / snap / break.
