Change it, matey . . . I know somewhere local who'll match it for you . . the one for my Zee cost £14, IIRC, and it was the "expensive" option.

They take seconds to fit, too.

FUBAR

F'in fantastic...   (Sorry for large pic but you kinda need the detail on this)

Gonna take it to Pristene this week to see if it needs repairing.

on the + side, the calliper/pads/disc/exhaust/floor & rear bumper are all unscathed.

doesn;t stop me being f'kin annoyed at myself tho.

oh no.....sorry to hear that mate, thankfully sounds like it didn't cause too much overall damage - are the caliper & mounting bracketry all ok as well??

oh thats a bummer...
.i was looking at ya wheels this morning, when we were discussing ally corrosion, and thinking how close the calipers sit to the edge of the wheel..

oh well it could have been worse.....
might pay to add a spot of locktight on them in future...

some tw@t forgot to tighten one of the P/S rear calliper bolts up properly which then went walkabout @75mph on the M1 today.

Indeedy, ALWAYS wire brush and put some thread lock on caliper bolts

FUBAR

Yep, I know it was stupid

I can take solace in the fact though that while waiting for the recovery truck (the RAC Van didn't have a bolt big enough) I saw another recovery truck roll past with a car almost identical to Phils on it...   I like to think of it as Karma equalising itself out LOL

New Stainless Bolts arrived today, they're not stock bolts because i couldn't find anything to match... so I changed all 4... so they all match each other

And yes... they're all done up fekin tight!!

Insides of both rear wheels have been painted (couldn't do just 1) no idea how long the paint will last but at least there's something on them.
I would have done the front ones too but they were holding the front of the car up  + i'm not convinced I can get those 100% clean for painting.  i'll have a go & see when I've got garage space again.

What was it I said LAST BLOODY WEEKEND about i think something is going to go wrong with the IROC... Well i'm not a happy bunny...

Driving home from the meet yesterday me & Vicky noticed that stuff was behaving strangely, long story short I think the alternator is f'kd again

I was sat there watching the volt gauge slowly droping on the way home & today when I've tried to start it to test to see if there is a difference in voltages when its running/ not running there's not enough power to start the car.

Battery is reading 11.55v across the terminals

So... can anyone else think of anything else it could be before I go I buy a new alternator  I've checked the terminals etc on battery & live wire @ the alternator end & all are tight & have voltage.
There doesn't appear to be anything wrong

<== NOT Happy, thats both jobs I have done on the car this year have ended up coming back to bite me in the arse

I would say try jumping / charging the battery, start the car and see what voltage the alternator is putting out first, as if you spend ~100 quid on a new one and is NOT that....i imagine you'd be a bit pished off!!!

Jamieg285

It sounds likely that the alt is fried again.  Regardless of whether you rebuild or replace, I'd be researching to try and find reasons why they are failing.

No point buying a new one if that will go the same way due to another problem elsewhere.

Any ideas on that?
It died by itself over winter last time, I'd assumed through last of use.
