Nope.

The cost of feeding the shiny addiction, unfortunately.

Jamieg285

It more than just a standard shiny cover too.  Do you need the re-inforced one?

FUBAR

No, TBH I doubt i'll change it for a while, it was just a curiosity more than anything.

On a Separate note, I was looking at the diff covers (like Deans one) on summit & I cannot find ANY that are right, The Diff on the IROC has 9 Bolts on it, and ALL of the ones that came up in searches by make/model and even manually were either 10,12 or 14Bolts

anyone got any ideas what the diff is? All I know is that thirdgen.org technical page says that all the LSDs were Borg Warner and 2.77:1 ratio without the G92 option.

oooooh, i remember those.. thats a strong axle. might be worth cross checking some holden models, as i believe it was an australian design axle.

Its possible, as the rear Callipers are Aussie

Rocky

Yeah all 9 bolt rear end parts come from Aus
You got that manifold pipe on yet?

FUBAR

nope, i'm still trying to find out what gaskets it needs for the collector end, US auto didn't have anything listed.

87 Camaro:
"G92 and L98 (B2L) cars finally got the Borg-Warner HD 7.75 inch four pinion rear end, produced by GM Holden's Limited of Australia (Firebird WS6 cars went to this unit in 1986). These units can be identified by their 9 bolt (rather than 10) differential cover that has a rubber plug. The Borg-Warner logo is also cast into the bottom of the differential case. This rear axle came with tapered rather than straight roller bearings and a cone-clutch rather than disc-clutch limited slip unit. These units came painted black from the factory while most others were bare metal."

It is stronger than the normal 10 bolt but that's not saying much...

However if you're going to put serious power through you can easily mod a 10 bolt to do so (up to a point) whereas parts are rare and expensive for the 9 bolt which makes it less practical for upgrades.

Rocky

I just got a BW for mine for £30 just needs new spider gears which isnt bad as i get good trade from 9bolt.com. I prefer the BW as if you get axel snap the rear wheel comes off on the 10 bolt but the BW is bolted externally. Also they are easier to service. The Dana 44 is the strongest on the market for the 3rd gen

Ok I'm tearing my hair out over this...

Does anyne know where I can get new Manifold - Y-Pipe Collector gaskets for my car???

I know there's some in there because I looked when it was up on the ramp @ Paragon yesterday

I can't find anywhere that has them...  and i'd really rather not reuse the existing ones

Rocky any suggestions / contacts?

There is only a steel insert which you clean and re-use
