Joe C tried to get a Borla system from US Automotive

Well when I asked them to get me a SLP system they only wanted to supply a Borla system
I told them that their avertistment at the time said " If it's manufactured we can supply it "
So five weeks later I got the SLP system, they were a Borla Dealer ??

First MPG Test results for the IROC are in,

235miles on 45litres approximately

equates too 23.76mpg (Using UK Gallons)
or 19.78mpg (using US Gallons)

Time I did the same.

Would be happy with those numbers to be honest.

FUBAR

That was on a nice mix of driving types too, some motorway cruising & around town too

Rocky

If you have my car in next month for the re-spraying on the chin spoiler would you be able to fit my new steering wheel too?  I can't get the old one off and don't have an American GM wheel puller have you got one?

That is of course unless PhilO's puller arrives beforehand.

FUBAR

Jamie, are you coming to Pods this weekend at all? If you are could you bring it with you then?

I'm trying to get some time booked off next week (Tues / Weds) to fit all the parts to my car that have arrived over the last week so would be cool if I could fit it then...

If you're not then no worries m8, it will have to wait.

Unlikely, running out of weekends to do all those little jobs on the car that end up taking hours.

Jamieg285

Bring the wheel and bits with you, it won't take long to swap over.

If you get stuck mate pop it round and i will take it off for you.

FUBAR

New Question...

How the hell do you remove the centre console plate that houses the shifter indicator & the ashtray?

How on earth do you get the shifter knob off? thats the only way I can see it can be done... I have the non-round leather type.

Ok... doofus does his research AFTER asking the question...

Quoting: 3rdgen.org

1. Pull the ebrake till its fully locked. Turn the key to the run position and put the car into 1st gear.
2. With a small flatblade screwdriver remove the clip from the front of the shift knob. Its shaped like a large staple. With it removed slide the shift knob off of the shifter.

that took all of 5 mins...

lol sposed to be other way round !!!

FUBAR

I have a plan...
but it requires some planning (duh!)

I'm intending to take a week off work at some point in September to work on my car and do the following, some jobs smaller than others:

To be Fitted:
New Exhaust (But might need some help )
Door Rubber Seals
Window sweep seals
Mirror Glass
Instrument Panel Overlays & Bulbs (Not Chavy! )
Fit Speakers.
Fit steering wheel (looks like this will be done at the Fancott though)
Remove wiring for old 80's Yuppie Carphone Kit (Excluding aerial)

While the doors are in bits I'm planning to:
Grease all window mechanisms
Clean & corrosion protect the inner door Skins

Also to do is:
Thoroughly Clean & underseal entire floorpan & arches (2 days work I reckon) But a LOT easier with the pit at the Barn!

The most convinient place for me to do this work is in my Garage, however the light is awful and its fairly cramped so isn't the best place for all these jobs.  So... would it be possible for me to use the Barn to do this work? If I can the W/C 11th September would be best because the Mezz will be up opening up loads more working space

This however presents 1 major problem, I can't get to Brackley every day when my only car is in bits.  The only solution I can think of to that is quite a major favor from Graeme of...
a) could you put me up for a week?
b) are you happy with me being at the barn all day by myself?
c) ferry me over there before work in the mornings & pick me up later...
