Shouldn't you be out there offering 'encouragement'...

Jo

I was out there yesterday with my head wedged in the footwell trying to get the bl**dy clutch quadrant out, most awkward thing, I just couldn't get my hand in the gap and see and move the clutch pedal all at once, gonna be helping with the brakes tho love the messy jobs

Ok, so the brakes didn't go according to plan at all.
Everything is stuck solid as it hasn't been touched for 19 years.
So, I've ordered a brand new set of stainless steel hard brake lines from Inline Tubing.

The only part of the entire brake system that won't be brand new will be the brake booster. That should sort it.

The plan now is to do Rockingham and SRS round 1 as it is now. Then sort the brakes out in the three ish week gap till SRS round 2.

That plan didn't work either.

However, I now have all new shiny stainless (hard) brake lines waiting in the pile of bits.

I also managed to flush most of the old brake fluid. Only did the back. Amazingly, both bleeds screws came undone easily.
The new stuff looks like red bull. The old stuff that came out looked like cloudy coke.
Found a small leak in the front of the proportioning valve. Only really tiny and it's going in the bin when I put the new bits on anyway.

Need new drums now as well...
