Some of you may remember that I've had one or two problems with GMC brakes and rebuilt the front disc calipers with new pads , new rear cylinders , shoes and finally new rear drums.

After the new drums had a done a few hundred miles I decided to remove them to check everything was OK ?

Well they went on easy enough but won't come off , I tried a mallet , small hammer , large lump hammer and even a blow torch, but the buggers won't budge

So I bought the largest puller I could find but it was too small
After searching the internet in vain for an even bigger one I decided to make my own.

Retaining the centre bolt and brackets from the original I purchased a £4.99 1m hardened crow bar. So first things first you need a workshop , sod it the patio will do !

Is that what they use to pull the fuel tank off the shuttle?

Any idea why they won't come off?

Just had a look at mine today. One of the drums is painted yellow - except it's now gone black and burnt looking. Might need a bit of adjustment on that one...

The centre part of the brake drum has a flange which is thin spring metal and the radius on the alloy wheels has pushed/bent them onto the axle flange.
When I get them off I'm going to relieve myself the hole so that they can't get stuck again.

That's not good Dude , I would think that the shoes have been sticking on due to a leaking cylinder.

It works

Here's the problem , the flange that the alloy wheels have pressed in

I stood back to think how to do this safety ( Safety Manager Mode ) when there was the loudest crack/bang you have ever heard and the drum shot off !
