That Volvo has a Renault engine in it for what it's worth.

I once had a Volvo 480ES coupe for a while and the 1.7 lump in that couldn't pull your Granny out of bed in the morning.

i had one!!! dont be fooled, mine was the 1.4.. slow as hell, but near impossible to break!

i did 40,000 miles in mine, and changed the oil twice..

even trailerd my 59 ford zodiac with it! poor thing didn't know what hit it..

but you're right, a bit old for what you want...

I had a 360 2.0..... That went real well..... BUT it wouldnt get 15 mpg lol

I also had a F Reg 1.7 for a short time..... Swapped it for a B reg Manta GTE

the 1.4 is the same engine as the renault 5, and thus by default the 5,9 and 11 GT turbo..

possible to extract 300+ bhp from it...
