Incursus

MOT passed with flying colours.

I quote "cleanest example we've seen"

Strange they've never mentioned that the last 4 times

Question on brakes.

Need new disks as mine are a little warped.

Going for EBC ones as price is reasonable.

As I have to get pads (annoying as the ones I have are only a few months old) I was looking at the EBC red stuff pads
Opinions?

about £20 more than The cheapy no name brand but are they worth it?

EDGE

im not keen on the red's, i hear they need a lot of heat before they work well.

what setup have you got on the front at the mo ?

thats probably not a problem on the mustang around MK, I cooked my brakes several times (once following my brothers fully loaded mercedes E class diesel estate!!!), keeping them cool is more of a challenge..

Original disks (probably) & standard pads.

EDGE

you'd do VERY well to upgrade to the cobra setup, its a cheap bolt on replacement, and the callipers are FAR better !

Ideally yes but I don't have the money.

As it is i'll have to buy the disks this month and the pads next month

EDGE

Ah bugger. Is it the daily car then?

Yup

Jamieg285

EBC yellow stuff works well on mine.  Need a little warming up in the morning,  but after a couple of normal stops they're great.

Incursus

Yellow is a bit hardcore for mine.  I think the street ones should be more than adequate.

EDGE

I think the entry level are greens aren't they ?

Incursus

Yeah green is lighter vehicles sub 200bhp.  kit cars etc.
I'm not over 200bhp but she weighs a fair amount.

philoldsmobile

i'm right on the edge of what greens can do, but they to work well on mine, but i've got the benefit of mach larger brakes than the stang, stopping a slightly lighter car. so lower brake temps in general

315mm disks, brembo 4 pots stopping 1495kg with 220 bhp.

EDGE

You're probably best just ordering oem ones from rock auto

Incursus

I'll check the ones on the car.  literally a couple of months old so there can't be that much wear.

Incursus

Small update.

Discs were changed a few weeks ago.  Much better!  The car doesn't try and shake its self apart when I brake now!

This week the Badge decals turned up so fitted that,  did an oil change and finally got round to replacing the 02 sensor (cheers Titsy for helping with that)

Gonna clean the air filter today and bake a cake.

Mmm, cake.

FUBAR

I remember when I changed the discs on my old camaro for that reason, was great afterwards
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

philoldsmobile

I think i went through 4 sets of discs on my camaro ,and one set on the stang, none worn out - they all warped!

For Rachels Birthday on Saturday.

Carrot and Walnut!  Don't think I've ever baked a cake before at least not since school...

Smells gooood

Didn't get round to doing the Air Filter though.

philoldsmobile

did you have the MAC (K&N) one out of mine before I sold it?

Incursus

No I bought an Air Hog filter back from the states.
