Project - Gearbox rebuild.

After speaking to W.I.M, I've decided to pull the 'Box for inspection BEFORE buying any rebuild kits to make sure no further damage has been done.

I'm thinking about co-inciding this with the possible axle work . . . .

Just gotta pick a date, ASAP, to pull it.

Well . . . . the box is out, finally.

Rebuild is in the pipeline until I can afford something more . . . "meatier"

I'm taking it down for a rebuild today . . .

Fingers crossed the damage to the actual gears is either none or very, very little . . .

Holy Mutha F*cker !

Just had a call . . . . Turns out the synchros aren't too bad . . . . . .

Instead the input and output shafts are Fooked !

Long story short if I want it done it's gonna be around £750 ! (inc vat).

On the plus side that'd come with a warranty so I could drive it like a madman knowing if it breaks I'm golden.

Not sure - don't think I have an option.

Mind you it's costing me nearly £600 for a recon steering box

So may be it ain't that bad

It's around £450 for a straight rebuild with warranty . . . . the extra is the shafts.
