philoldsmobile

aaack, tricky...

thirdgens are an odd size, not the PCD, but the backspacing.. VIPER had a set of TT2's on his 92 camaro, and they cost over  £2,000 because they had to be custom made..

FUBAR

Not that, the actual Stud size & Thread ID or whetever its called for the bullet lugs

ahh.. not sure, corparate GM size, same as just about everything else from the 80's GM stable...

Philo i will be having custom TTII's and they were the same price custom as off the shelf from newstalgia. All you need to do is email american racing and they will tell you what PCD and backspace you need for the car

Not going to be much help here, but it will be either 7/16 (like mine) or 12mm (like Martyn).  I am pretty sure that 3rd Gens had  both, depending on if it was an early or late version.  Ideally, you will need to compare with someone whos know what they have.

Me Me Me!!

This one. http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/productdetails.asp?id=1553\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"nofollow\">http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/productdetails.asp?id=1553

The 7/16 (As far as I can tell, fingers crossed) set with the 4 lockables and the sockets. Product number C22205B

philoldsmobile

thirdgens have the same bolt pattens as 4th gens, it didn't change across the years.

i believe all GM patterns were standardised in about 76, hence the reason late 2nd gens can use thirdgen wheels.

thirdgens need spacers (skulte do some excelent ones) to correct the offset when running 4th gen wheels.

Ok after speaking to some guys on the MMA forum now i'm pretty sure its 1/2"

72 are 7/16 with 4" PCD  and 73 are 1/2" with 4 1/2 PCD.
Mine is 4 1/2" PCD so either it modified 72 bits or someone put 73 bits on

Shame theres no easy way to tell

So which ones you go for?

FUBAR

I'll have to pull a lug on mine & measure up...

Hopefully some will fit because they are cool & only $40!

At worst i can sell em on for a mint to a jag owner i'm told 1/2 will fit em  or a chav and tell they will fit a scort

FUBAR

True, stick em on eBay, with a good advert you might actually make some money :)

Ryan,

have you sorted a date to go down to Rocky's yet (plan for checking wheel nuts formulating!!!)

FUBAR

Probably the 28th, I think i'll be driving back from southampton on the 27th AM & am on a bit of a timescale that day so won't be able to go M3-M25-M1 & go en-route

Richard did say something about finishing you're car off, whats he got it for?

If you haven't worked out what thread your nuts are by then (insert your own joke), drop by my place and we can check it.  If you can get a nut from Chris, we can do his too.

Cool, I had thought of  it TBH.

However is the Hole you press them into a standard size ?

Also what one of the list would you opt for ?

Or would it be wiser to order from the states ?

Not sure, it won't be hard to measure though.

From that list I would go for the 12mm, as at least you know it's a standard metric thread.  Go with imperial and you may get caught out by coarse or fine threads.  Without seeing what you have, it's difficult to make a decision.  Also make a note of how long the ones you have are, and if you will need longer ones with your wheels of choice.

No need to order from the States once you know what you want, IF you can get them over here.

1st thing would be to find out what wheels you are having, and if they need longer studs, then find out if the splines are a standard thickness, if not either find some to match yours or get the hubs machined to fit what you can get, then match them to a thread that's available in the bullet nuts.
