Yup you did read that right - the grande is for sale

1973 Ford Mustang Grande
302ci V8
3 Speed Auto
Light Blue / Black Vinyl Roof
White Vinyl Interior
Original Radio still fitted (and works!)
Has chrome wheels but i have the original steels with the proper chrome trims
Lots of paperwork & history inc. original owners handbook, MOTs for years etc.

Currently has no Tax / MOT and needs a bit of TLC:
Gearbox has little/no oil - has a very slight drip from rear ruibber seal (is OK if driven regularly as seal is plyable, where its been stood for some time its leaked a bit more!)
Brakes are probably siezed - been stood for almost 12 months
The Black paint on the sills is flaking off, It is not rusted behind but just seems to be flaking off.

Open to (sensible) offers - any Q's - either post, email or PM me.

A couple of pics

Cos it aint been used since oct/nov last year so aint been anywhere in it to put pics of it up!

Hmm yeah but then i dont have a semi sensible daily car (as the cobra is the work car/daily/trips etc car)

I would like to keep it, but cos its sat outside, under a cover it really dont get the attention it deserves

Waddya mean???  You're saying the '73 isn't sensible for a daily?!?

1. No computer crap.
2. No note payments.
3. Cheaper insurance.
4. Less tax.
5. Easier to work on. (see #1)
6. Cheaper parts. (see #1)

Sounds perfectly sensible to me!

Can you tell i'm not a big fan of computerized motors?!?

ianjpage

alll very valid points but the miles i seem to be doing lately it would be very bad on the wallet for fuel !!!

and yeah computers in cars - baaaaaaaaaaaad thing

no such thing as note payments here, and the tax is the same....

Is it not tax exempt? thought 1973 was the cut off

philoldsmobile

31st jan 1973 to allow for late 72 build dates... and the grande is mid 73 build, so sadly it just misses the boat..

New cars have finance . . . . . Older cars are either brought for cash or you get a personal loan to cover it.

Unless buying from a trader who offers you finance - these should be avoided like the plague.

sixpack2639

Gotcha!! Financing a used vehicle is common place here but as you say should be avoided like the plague! Interest rates on used vehicles are outrageous!

I suppose it's common here, too.

Personally, though, I've always either brought cash or got a loan.

Mind you the newest car I've owned was still 11 years old at the time !!!

sixpack2639

Any car i've ever bought for more than $5,000 was financed(probably about 7 cars/trucks). Less than that I paid cash and i've owned quite a few cars and trucks over the years(35 give or take a few)that I can recall.

More seriously if we knew what sort of ball park figure you started with ?
It would be a lot easier to sell to people !

Ian, If the values over here are any indication to what they are over there she's worth $5,000 (barely drivable) to $17,000 (show).

Hope that helps mate. Carl
