An American Taxi.

Well the Americans have decided that they need a purpose built Taxi like  LTI who make our London Taxi.
They wanted something big enough to compete with the Ford Crown Vic etc but instantly recognizable ?

It's instantly recognizable alright. IT's F'UGLY!! If they want a new taxi, they should start making Checker's again! They were nice looking cars, and definitly recognizable!!!

There was one for sale locally last year that was Burgandy and Charcoal Grey two-toned and it looked great! It was billed as being a Checker Motor Car Co. executives' car.

Thanks Carl, amazing story that Morris Markin kept selling the company and then buying it back a few years later.
Didn't realise that the last ones were made in 1982, would have thought they would be getting quite rare now ?
