I'd say maybe something like a wine bar to be smooth but the trouble is you want to go somewhere you'd be comfortable in.  Ie. normally go to.

What about the coffe shop in the dome, big cumfy seats and fairly quiet, you could then move on some where else if it was going well

The ideal, I'd suggest, is a meal somewhere where they aren't too busy so you won't be rushed and somewhere where parents don't take their kids for their Birthdays . . . .

Old Oreans is fool proof . . . there's others but they'll just cost more.

Been advice by many girls that a meal is a very bad idea for a first date, but its been confirmed that a bar is a good choice maybe followed up with bowling, Alton Towers was also suggested  hence the bowling compromise.
