Dear Sir/Madam,

BBC Current Affairs is currently producing a drama-documentary about the future of world oil production.  As part of this film we are eager to include a scene involving panic gasoline buying at an American gas station.  We plan to mock up an existing British petrol station for this purpose, but need to fill it with US-style vehicles in order to maintain the effect.  As such we would very much appreciate any help you might be able to give us in this regard.  We are predominantly interested in relatively modern (as opposed to classic/vintage) vehicles that might typically be found currently in North America.  As you can imagine, it is far less expensive to film this scene in the UK rather than the USA.  If you are able to do so, perhaps you might be kind enough to forward this information on to your members:-

AMERICAN CARS WANTED!  Are you an American vehicle enthusiast who is interested in their car appearing on television?  BBC2 is researching a factually based drama-documentary about the oil industry and would very much like to include good examples of modern (i.e. not classic/vintage) American cars.  The scene involves panic buying at a US gas station, which will be filmed at a British petrol station, suitably mocked up, possibly somewhere in Central London or Surrey.  If you would like to know more about this project please contact Matthew Hill on 0208 752 7959, email: matthew.hill3@bbc.co.uk.

Yours sincerely,

Matthew Hill

Roadkill

I Think Martyn would be the only one among us who'd qualify anyway.

FUBAR

I see there's a differing opinion of where we fall then...  in the car scene its "Bloody 3rd gens, too modern"

Outside "Too Classic"

It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

Roadkill

Or just too Old, Probably.

philoldsmobile

nah, thirdgns generaly fall under the axe of modern, simply because they dont look dated, even now.

Tahoe of course would also qualify..
