Just got two letters from Royal mail saying they're holding two parcels which require some tax paying (about £20 each).

Gonna pick them up after rush hour's over.

After them screwing up and forgetting to deliver Friday (and lying, saying it would be there when I called) I arranged delivery to go to my work today.

What did I find when I got home ?

That's right - a missed parcel slip.



And I got a Dirka who could bearly understand me on the end of the phone.

Been a bit busy with Graduations and the kiddies getting out of school for the summer.

Had planned to get on it today but that's been nixed too.

The wife ran Nikki up to school last night so she could just ride home with us from her Grad ceremony and when she went to turn off her Ranger the truck wouldn't turn off.

I don't know if the ignition switch or the key cylinder has packed up but i've gotta tear apart the column either way.

Luckily it's a 5 speed so I just stalled it out and disconnected the battery last night. I'd of had a hell of a time shutting it off if it had an auto box.

I'm in utter shock at the absolute F*CKING STUPIDITY of UPS.

I get home TODAY and find ANOTHER missed parcel notice.

Sorry.  At this point I've lost it.

I call UPS . . . wait 10 minutes on hold . . . get through to someone and politely but firmly tell them I need to speak to a supervisor.

So he "transfers" me . . . . . . . . . . and cuts me off !



Call back again . . . . . another ten minutes . . get another guy - tell him the same thing . . he transfers me . . . . another 7 minute wait.

I get a "supervisor" who admits someones made a mistake (not multiple mistakes . . just "a" mistake).
She basically blames the Northampton Depot and suggests I call them.

Yeah, Like F*CK I WILL.

I suggest that I've wasted enough of my life with useless idiots and tell HER to call them.

She then says her Managers will contact them and all will be O.K.

I tell her that I doubt that and that I want someone to call me back confirming tomorrows delivery.

"No need" she says.

"Err, Yes there is" was my response.

She agrees that "someone" will call me within the hour.

"No offense" I say "But I've heard that before . . . "

She apologises again but I'm left utterly unconvinced.

I sit and wait for the phone call . . . . . . . . 53 minutes and counting . . .

Suprise, surprise, sur-f*ckin'-prise.

No phone call.

I called them - got through to someone - who referred me to someone else - who sent me on to the supervisor I spoke to earlier.

"Oh" she said "I did leave a message - your phone went straight to Orange answer phone"

"Funny, I'm on O2"

They've taken my phone number now on FOUR separate occasions and all times I've spoken very clearly and repeated it for them.

But, alas, it seems they can't even manage simple numbers at UPS, either.

Net result - It should be being delivered tomorrow.

Before hanging up she said if I'd like I could raise a complaint.

I said in the circumstances I think I would . . . she didn't sound surprised . . . . . . Mind you they probably took the wrong details and I'll hear nothing back.

I'm sorry for all the trouble mate.

As you said, we had little choice though.

UPS usually gives me good service over here but i'd never used them for international shipping before either.

I utterly despise using Fedex as their service here is shite. Not to mention we'd of had to pay for pickup service as their closest depot to me is 50+ miles away. And their price for shipping was higher than UPS's.

Hopefully you won't order anything over 60" in the future and we won't be forced to use them again.
