Graeme, any news on the engine while I was away?

Also
weekend of the 17th Will you be at the Barn? If not i'll need to get the keys off you.
Also I'll need a hand refiting the Axel and snizzle ready for shipping her back to MK. Volunteers please take one step forward

Roadkill

I suppose I can do one day . . . . But I need as much time this weekend working on the bathroom.  Kinda no choice with the wall missing . . . . . . . .

Just check and make sure you've got everything you need . . . parts, tools, fixings etc . . . . .

Then double check.

Then check again.

Well I don't have any tools except my socket set.  I know there is a least one sheared bolt holding one of the shackles up so will need something to remove that.  I can't remember if the new shackles came with new bolts and they are at the barn so can't check (picture on YearOne shows bolts though).

I'll bring the diff oil with me.

Everything else should already be at the barn.

umm

Roadkill

Pretty sure the shackles came with bolts . . . . you may want to pick up some spare sockets / drivers for the "other side" or spanners at least ????

I'd suggest checking that the diff cover is tightened to the right torque (so torque wrench) ???

EDIT - do you have a new gasket ?

If a bolt is sheared you'll need heat and/or drill to remove it.  What size was it ?

I'd recommend taking grease (not oil) to coat the new bolts with to prevent rusting/siezing in the future.

A wire bush would also come in handy . . . as would something to put on the floor as I don't fancy getting dirty this weekend . . .

You'll almost definately need spanners for the U-Bolts as I'm guessing a socket will bottom - out.

Grease is cheap . . . I'm guessing Chris won't be buying . . .

Yup pretty sure its got a new gasket but I can check the recipt
I don't have any of that other stuff except the grease, which is already at the barn.  Can I borrow?
No idea what size bolt was M8?

Saying that the £60 saved by shifting the Duster would more than cover a set of spanners etc.

Gonna need em lots left to do on the old girl.

Think i'll pop down the Market on Friday.

Nope, sent him an email today as i havnt been able to get ahold of him. Nothing much more i can do. Chris might have to call him and sort this out as its not really any thing to do with me. All i can do is ask on progress

After a very quick look.

Argos are doing this: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7017467/Trail/searchtext%3ETOOLS.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7017467/Trail/searchtext%3ETOOLS.htm

It's £50 down from £100.  Not the best quality of course, but for £50 who cares

Of course.

M8?

No, I'd guess 3/8" UNC . . . That said you'll need drills from pilot - 9.5mm - Maybe more if it's 1/2" UNC . . . .

Those I have NOT got . . . Not good enough, anyway . . .

Hmm they don't look good tbh.

Halfords tools are good enough quality for the amount of use I would give them.  I've already got a tool case thingy so my best bet is probably the Market and Halfords

Jamieg285

Whatever tool set you get, make sure it's not all MM and has at least some AF stuff in it.

Especially as none of the Duster will be metric.

Halfords

Halfords professional is the same as the Signet stuff G-Unit has.  Works for me
It's the time that we kill that keeps us alive...

Roadkill

Halfords Pro is a different kettle of from what Chris put up I think . . . .

But yeah, my HalPro stuff is all good.  Will be after their ratchet spanners next . . .

55starchief

I  might have some signet stuff up for sale over the next 12 months as im thinking of updating my spanners and sockets

Yup already considered that.

No point getting a complete set like them anyway as I already have a socket set so a set of spanners and a few of screwdrivers should keep me going for a bit.

Costco had some good deals on spanners and screwdrivers didn't they?

They did have some tool sets, but as I wasn't looking for tools at the time I didn't pay any attention.
