Probably missed a few out, in case your wondering why so many were scrapped ? All we did was buy a car for about £30 with a couple of months tax & MOT and then scrap it and get a £10 back. Add in a drive any car or motorbike insurance policy for £25 a year = cheap motoring.

So what do I still want ?

Gotta get a Pickup truck sometime soon and I quite fancy a convertible for the summer LOL

My overall ambition is to own a car which is so powerful that I have to really careful with the throttle even in the dry !

Amey

Here's mine - I've not included the GMC as Ian has it in his list.

1983 Ford Fiesta Popular Plus 1L(Manual) - Bought for £350 as my 1st car. Spent about £1000 getting it through MOT's in the 3/4 years of owning it. Insured on provisional license for 3 years. - Scrapped

1994 Renault Clio 1.4L - 1st Auto car bought about 6 months before passing my auto test (passed in Sept 2003). Lovely little car - sold for £700 to someone at work who broke it and had it scrapped.

1996 Rover 416Sli 1.6L - Bought to replace the Clio. Was excellent, nice smooth ride. It was also used to tow the caravan to billing a few times. - Sold to buy the Pontiac

1992 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1 V6 - 1st yank, bought so I didn't have to drive the Grandee to one of the Calais cruises Took ages to get used to the size of it. Was really comfortable though. - Sold

1984 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc 5L V8 - Christmas present from Ian as I wasn't getting on that well with the Pontiac. Lowered springs, only got to drive it for about 3-4 months before the fuel pump broke. Had lots of fun in that car

1996 Chevrolet Camaro 3.8L V6 - Current car. Very comfortable, but fun to drive as well

Jamieg285

Not hugely interesting, but here goes :-

At 16 (er 1990ish)

Mini - given for free with intention of fixing up to get through MOT.  Hopeless case, ended up rotting on parents front garden until another mug took it for spares.
Yamaha DT50 - not going to be content with a moped, I had to have a decent bike. This one had been bored to 65cc and very well looked after (until I got it)    It was nicked from in front of the house despite having a massive lock on the wheel (3 lads picked it up and carried it away) Ended up with the police driving them off the road, and recovering it to a scrap yard. I optimistically went to get it back, but it was trashed.

At 17(ish)

Kawasaki KDX 125 - A relatively rare beast, and one of my favourite bikes.  Had a progressive power valve that propelled it to a stonking 83 mph - not bad for a 125cc trials bike. Sold to upgrade.

Cavalier MK3 - Inherited the family car. One of my favourites, as not only did I learn to drive in it, but the engine was damn good (only a 1300, but went more like a 2ltr) Sold for scrap.

(Can't remember the years any more)

'The Shove-it' - classic car for early uni days. A 1200cc Vauxhall chevette, initially with 2 different colour panels (door didn't match), became 3 colours after I hit a cat and it destroyed the front wing (and got up and ran away!)  Claim to fame? - was slower than my 125 bike.

Metro 1 - Cheap run-around while at uni.  Ran around with no rear suspension(low-rider?!) until the old bill pulled me for it. Killed the engine.

Metro 2 - In decent condition when I got it, wasn't when it died.

Kawasaki KDX250 - Thought that upgrading to a bigger bike was a good move - wrong.  It was a lumpy 4 stroke, heavier and less agile, a bitch to (kick) start, and to top it all, slower than the 125.  Biggest regret.

Astra MK4 - Ex-company car - Had been well and truly thrashed before I got it, and was well and truly thrashed when I had it.  Served me well.

Suzuki RF600 - Much better bike. Proper racing bike, although one of the lower rated in it's class it was more than enough for me.  Strongest memory, trying to find the top speed down the Leighton Buzzard bypass and having the front wheel hop off the ground due to the bumps - Parp!

Megane - Company car - horrible - diesel - french. Off loaded as soon as possible.

1980 Firebird - Fitted with 350SBC, custom black with blue pearl paint, with airbrushed eagle and dummy cowl on the hood. Introduction to the Yank scene, and the 1st car that made me realise I really could do the mechanics myself.  Killed the engine (craked heads).  Put some better ones on, but that was so I could sell it so didn't really find out what the benefit was.

Honda CRV - Company car - good decent run around.  Handed back when made redundant.

Vauxhall Corsa (Debbies)

1979 Camaro - you might know it

Vauxhall Astra (Debbies)

Honda CRV

300bhp per ton

1994 Land Rover 90 300Tdi (first car :) and still the one I most regret selling!)
1978 MGB GT (restored and fun)
1996 MGF 1.8i
1997 MGF 1.8 VVC
1982 Jaguar XJ-S V12 HE
1976 Triump TR7 2.0 FHC (ripped rear axle off and twsited shell)
1990 MG Meastro EFi 2.0 (very good f*ing car, with 3 up it was still quicker to 95mph than my mates modified 2.9 XR4x4 Sierra with only 2 people in. Very reliable also)
1977 Triumph TR7  - current (started out as 2.0 FHC, now modified V8)
198x Range Rover Vogue 3.5 V8 EFI
1993 Nissan 200SX TURBO
1991 Land Rover Discovery 200Tdi 3dr - current
2000 Camaro z/28 - current (99 model year)
1998 Peugeot 106 - current (DD & does 60mpg!!!)
1991 Ford Transit high top SWB - current (but not running)

I think that's the main ones, although I've had other boring DD's and bought and sold a few, plus had access to some other cars on a daily basis but wheren't actually mine, such as a Jaguar 6.0 XJ12.

-Ford Orion Ghia 1.6
-Peugeot 106 XND
-VW Golf
-Vauxhall Cavalier
-BMW 318i auto

Not too bad in less than 10 years....

That skoda was awesome, 1300cc with a twin choke weber and group N exhaust, also rear wheel drive and rear engine made for great powerslides in the wet. It also had a kilowatt of light on the front end as i used to rally it across the backroads at night
