He just won't listen to reason.

In my opinion, if the thing works, it's not sloppy workmanship.
If you want to spend extra effort on top to make it look a particular way, fine.

I agree, but think screw heads are going OTT.

Maybe if the switch/fitting is on the pi$$, yeah . . but not the screwhead.

What about Head Bolt heads ? - By their nature they HAVE to be where the torque dictates . . .

yeah the way everyone torques it and then gives it a little more hence the reason i went with 12 point nuts more chance of making them all look the same

Maybe he keeps changing them until he gets a set that all line up at the correct torque...
